intramural floor hockey
This was the best. Some serious pounding on each other in a legal way. You better be in shape to run the floor.

IN before the first poster calls LSU out for not supporting Hockey with enough NIL dollars.

Someone would have to reopen the rink that closed a few years ago over by Cortana/Amazon. That was a fun place for my kiddos.

We already have too many non revenue generating sports. No thanks

LSU has a club team already. The ACHA club teams have been growing rapidly both in number and skill. With The recent rule change by the NCAA that lets players from the Canadian Junior leagues retain eligibility there will be a glut of really good players without a place to play on scholarship.
Honestly sharing the arena with basketball won’t work. I get the NHL does it but each time has a practice rink. Most club teams play out of local rinks.

There’s a good amount of northern kids at lsu that would like to play hockey but don’t want to drive to Lafayette to practice

For those who dismiss hockey needs to watch a NHL game live. It’s one of the most exciting sports to watch. I was hooked when I lived in Nashville. It’s probably one of the most skillful sports to play. Hitting a baseball at 95+ mph might be the only thing that compares to skating on ice and swinging a stick, hitting a puck, all while trying to stay balanced on the ice. Not to mention the guys who stand directly in front of a hard puck, trying to block a 90+mph shot.

Hockey would be too expensive. All of the ice making equipment isn't cheap or did you think they just turned down the AC?
Yeah there would be sone cap ex so you put it in with the financing for the new arena

Rantards see highlights of one USA hockey fight and want to blow $100M on a new hockey program.

Let's get a Pickle Ball team too while you at it.

Soccer on ice.
Terrible analogy.
Actually, it's perfect and exactly how I describe hockey every time...lacrosse is hand soccer.

Sports tend to be popular in areas where kids can play them as they grow up. And by this, I mean cheaply and easily, on naturally frozen ponds, playgrounds, or even in the streets, That's just not possible in Louisiana. Hockey may find a small niche following here but never much more than that.

I could see lacrosse before hockey.

So you’ve never watched hockey…got it.

Title 9 will prevent it from being funded and it is too expensive to support by just the players.

Far better (& more skillful) than basketball.
