That Oregon State team was terrible by its lofty standards that year.

They showed more life in the regional than DBU and URI did this year. Saying they were better isn’t a high bar.

That doesn't inherently make them a better team, just that they had a better weekend.

Fresno State was a weak 4-seed in 2008... then they got hot and won a national title.

Yeah give me that Oregon St team over DBU or Little Rock easily.

But DBU was a dangerous 2 seed

Been said often yet they have only advanced to a Super twice in program history.

The road ahead is shaping up well also. That's all I'll say.

What did either DBU or URI accomplish this season that would suggest this weekend was significantly out of character? Most computer rating systems had DBU in the #27-35 range and URI as one of the lowest 3 seeds.

Your argument against Oregon State seems to be a point in time argument anyway. They were weakened due to injuries but still performed better. If we’re looking at the bigger picture than just what existed at the time of regionals then Oregon State was better before the injuries.

I’m not really sure how this discussion makes much sense other than looking at actual regional performance anyway. It’s implied that the question is how easy has it been to win this regional.

I can’t think of another one that was even close to this easy.

It is definitely different. No in-state schools, no P4 teams. That doesn't necessarily equate to easier, but it does feel easier, if that makes any sense.

Let’s makes sure this ends tonight before saying things like this.

That said, I’ve watched nearly every inning in the regional, and URI was a straight up bad team. They looked awful and their pitching got smoked.

West Virginia has a really good pitching staff apparently so I dont think it's shaping up as nicely as we would've hoped. Kentucky would be tough as well. Mingione is a weasel.

It has certainly fallen LSUs way.

DBU deciding down 5-0 was the time to roll out their 3rd starter helped.

According to a number of posters on the rant:
Jay screwed us with weather delays
Jay screwed us with the pitching rotation
Our guys can't hit
Jared Jones is a liability
Need a 3rd baseman that can hit
Milam slump
Sure I've missed many other issues.

So, not an easy one, just another day of LSU fans.

Not really. Their schedule got tougher late in the season and the staff fell apart. Kirns pitched well, but the bullpen gave up 6 runs in 2 innings to blow the game against Kansas. They gave up 40 runs in Kartsonas’ last 4 starts and the bullpen was awful in all 4 games. Add in that they don’t have a 3rd starter worth anything and I wouldn’t say they have a really good staff.

If DBU didn’t use their two best pitchers in a losing game against us, it might be more competitive.

They’ve drawn a team that is quite possibly the hottest team in the tournament right now in Little Rock.
