Of all things to question this has to be one of the easiest ones to disprove if you paid any attention to LSU baseball since he arrived. He's basically the best hitting coach in the country in my opinion. I'm not worried about LSU's slump currently. I'd rather peak in late may than now.

That’s not true. Trump is smart, and he says it. In fact, his statement that he is a stable genius was so funny; it lit up the MSM; they were apoplectic.

Not really. He’s the worst coach ever. Anyone worth a damn would’ve won a natty by now and would be recruiting top notch classes so that we have a team that can contend each year.

What he’s doing is simply not acceptable

There is more evidence to suggest players improve under CJJ than do under Vitello. Cannon Peebles has been arse since transferring and Andrew Fischer isn’t doing much better than he did at Ole Miss last year.

ETA: and they play in a much more hitter friendly park and it’s not close

Jay always allowed Tommy to be in swing mode and it cost LSU because he was clearly trying to do too much swinging at pitches way out of the zone.

He definitely overthinks a lot of things

I’m referring to hitting. When a kid steps into the box they’re largely on their own. He isn’t calling much so it’s on the kid to have great situational awareness and discipline.

Just think about how many times this past weekend we had a runner at 3rd with less than two outs and couldn’t get a run across. It’s because there’s no plan, clearly. At a minimum, hitters should know to shorten up and put the ball in play. Instead, we had guys striking out left and right taking big cuts

What’s wrong with your boy Tony? His offense has looked like dog water for 3 weeks now. What gives? Bad coaching probs

Or maybe you can give us a rundown of their swag meter right now. Looking pretty low IMO

What he did with Alex Milazzo through his 3 years with him was pretty impressive.

Braswell is another that comes to mind along with Stanfield

I know we are struggling with runners in scoring position but i dont think Jay has problems developing people at the plate. It is baseball and the ball dont always fall your way

You really do not know baseball lol. Yes, you would be correct. The kid is expected to execute by putting the ball in play when someone is in scoring position.

Agreed. It cost Tenn to lose to ND in the supers a couple years ago

So if you look at OB% for LSU teams the past 15 years.m since BBCOR ERA began, a the highest team Ob% were

1. 2023- .432
2. 2025- .432 (put them second because the season isn’t over)
3. 2022- .404
4. 2024- .397
5. 2013- .385

If you look at runs scored per game since 2011

1. 2023- 8.96
2.2025-8.77
3.2022- 8.11
4.2024- 7.09
5.2011- 6.93

And that’s JJ’s philosophy, get on base, get runs in.

When he started he basically said. his philosophy was “It’s a Ball or it’s a line drive”

Then Team Ob% jumped from .361 to .404 the year he took over.

but Jay cant teach hitting...its so obvious right? yet we have been much better hitting under him than we have been anytime in the BBCOR era

the BESR era and pre-BESR era dont count

and if you dont know what bbcor and BESR are well then you are not intelligent enough about baseball to even be giving an opinion.

The major majority on here are these 18 and Under's and the Luzianner Lifer Pump Lump Cheerleader MA's.......
