This exact thread is started every year a week after baseball ends. I use it as a signal for the real start of the offseason

It is sad to not see a tradition I enjoyed watching before every football game happen anymore, but it is kind of a cruel thing and a bad environment to put an animal in lol.

Made a deal with who?
Not sure there was a deal, but here is an Advocate article prior to LSU acquiring Mike VII.

In response to advances in animal care and concerns over the live mascot's treatment, the next tiger will no longer be trotted out in a cage for home football games and will live in a newly-renovated habitat that is larger and more educationally oriented than the previous enclosure.

They could have a skit at halftime with mascot Mike the tiger throwing purple and gold lead based paint on people dressed up like peta workers

There are too many people trying to prohibit LSU from having a tiger at all despite all of their conservation endeavors on behalf of tigers. Don’t give them any ammunition in their cause.

Funny that zoos can parade thousands of people per day past tigers in a cage, Mike can be viewed all day on gameday, but ten minutes in the stadium is cruelty.

Eye splits open, a cage rises up from below like in the Roman Colosseum.

How often does Mike go to class and who is Mike's professor?

FSU can run an actual Seminole Indian out onto the field and you don’t hear anyone complaining that they took him off the reservation, but take Mike the Tiger out to the field for one evening and everybody loses their minds.

That's not how that works.

I mean let’s make this happen. They have thousands of people outside his cage. The freaking band plays. He probably is sitting there wondering what the hell is going on in the game. He should get to watch. He probably gets bored it would be good for him.
I think it’s time to change this.
Yes this is the off season thread we get every year and will continue to.
It would be so BA if we could get him out there again.

I guess Buffaloes are not as mentally fragile as Tigers?

It has nothing to do with the people per se. Mike's habitat now is basically a zoo.

It has everything to do with removing a Tiger from its familiar setting, putting him in a cage that's too small and driving him around amidst loud noises he's not used to.

It's not healthy and not worth it.

Make him familiar with it. He will be fine. He is just a big cat. He hears all the noise anyways.

No, he won’t like it at all. Stop bringing up this nonsense. Is this what you are thinking about the middle of June?

Even if he gets a little fired up he will be fine.
My cat does not like the yard guys. He is fine in an hour.
This is literally the problem with society.
He will be fine.

No I want to see the cheerleaders riding around on top of the cage. I want the kids to see Mike.
I want the recruits to see Mike.
I want the opponents to see Mike.
