Is there a roadblock to selling naming rights for stadiums at LSU?

Why not generate athletic money/NIL money by having The Sazerac Tiger Stadium or the Crown Royal PMAC or the Shaw Alex Box Stadium? Could use that money to fund athletics and maybe shift the money coming in to TAF into NIL. I wonder if there are rules that prevent this type of branding.
I for one support pimping everything out for money, who cares. It stops bleeding the people and makes for more advertising

Nothing like going to Kentucky to play on Kroger Field

I’m in with your first downvote. I really hate that idea. But the truth is it will likely happen sooner or later.

I'll pass
I laugh every year during baseball season when other fanbases whine about the signs on the fence at Alex Box, but you go to A&M to play at Blue Bell Park.

I agree it's terrible taste but I feel like it's inevitable and the benefits outweigh the "purity of college sports" (if that's even ever been a thing)

Haha you are definitely right here

Selling the naming rights for Tiger Stadium wouldn’t impact “bleeding the people” one bit. When the naming rights for the Super Dome were sold, did you see Saints ticket prices drop? Concession prices?

I hope we never prostitute ourselves like that for a check, stadium should be named Tiger Stadium until the end of mankind

It only is if you let it. There are plenty of ways to say “no” when someone brings this idea up.
Money motivates, sure. But you have to learn to say no to money. You want to see the value of Tiger Stadium’s name go up? Tell naming rights people no. Tell them they can’t have it. Tiger Stadium’s profile would never be more distinct than if its peers were named after a bunch of clown corporations. That type of image enhancement for LSU is worth something. It says to the public that we can’t be bought.
Of course… that’s a ludicrous notion. But… we are what our record says we are. We haven’t sold out the stadium name yet. So… we can at least check that integrity box.

Yeah, we are all looking forward to Tiger "Put the Womack on them" Stadium.

LSU has an official personal injury attorney partnership with Dudley and Debosier. Let's not give the athletic program too much credit.

They would never do that because it would conflict with Dudley and Debosier haha

If we go with the new PMAC similar to what UT, UH, City of Birmingham etc. have with their arenas...gotta assume that comes with a brand attached to it.

It wouldn't generate the revenue you think it would. The Superdome/Saints get less than $7M a year for their naming rights agreement with Caesars. The Smoothie King Center/Pelicans get $4M a year.

How much is Denny's paying to have their name on Bama's stadium?

I don't know, that sounds like pretty good money coming in to me
