I think it’s ridiculous that we have to 100% rely on coordinators and the coordinator carousel every year

Remember Dale Browns vow to take down LSU Basketball if he were fired? That imbroglio will be Romper Room in comparison, IMO....

Tune up “The Heat is On”!!!

if he has a bad season it might be warm in 2022, but that's a lot of money

Nah. But anything short of a 10-2 regular season should get it nice and toasty IMHO.

Two years ago the best season by any school ever and then a pandemic season. If he is on the hot seat, the powers that be are idiots

You’re getting downvoted for this

He lost a ridiculous amount of players from the 19 team. His frick up was his hiting process for a new coach. Other than that, what has he done to warrant being fired? It’s been an assistant coaching carousel since he’s been here. In regard to the question of the OP, “hot seat,” meaning he is fired if we have 3-4 losses this year? No thats not happening.

Itll be frustrating and LSU fans will have a reason to start questioning Ed O as our coach going forward, but at this exact point in time, hell no he is not on the “hot seat.”

Basically, he burnt through all the goodwill earned from 2019 last season.

If an average season in an unprecedented and an uncontrollable set of events is enough to burn through goodwill of literally the best season of all time, then LSU deserves everything it gets.

Good luck with the Larry Fedoras and Mike Gundys of the world because that’s who we were in line for before we “settled” for O. The job isn’t as top shelf as you all think and there’s not any slam dunk options out there. We’re not getting any of the top dogs.

Scott Woodward and all or almost all declined to testify as well. Why would O be singled out for this? Shitty take

When are you people going to learn, CBS is leftwing garbage that publishes nothing but fake new?

Ed O actually did a very good job last season. Obviously, what the outcome was wasn't what the fans would have preferred. Nonetheless, all things considered, Ed O should be praised for the job he did last season. I mean, there isn't another coach in the country that could have done a better job last season under the fluke circumstances.

Meanwhile, name another head coach in America who in only his third season at the helm at LSU went 15 & 0 and won a Natty with the greatest college football team in history, while at the same time, reeling in a $55 million dollar bonanza for the university. Not to mention the 15 & 0 season is the best ever in LSU's history.

Name another head coach in America who has a 13 & 5 win/loss record against AP top-10 opponents over the past four years?

Not to mention that there are only a small handful of elite coaches in America who have recruited three straight top-5 national recruiting classes in a row and who is also on the way to doing it again for the fourth season in a row.

Indeed, CBS is pathetic fake news. It's complete and utter garbage.

Yes,

Throw in did not interview DC position ultra important role on team and seemed to lack authentic connection to many on team who were hurting (whether Tiger nation agrees or not) during racial tensions of 2020...

Coach O's leadership is like crude oil, needs refining.

I still love him and think he can be just right for LSU. Berl his earl...

the Title IX allegations

That warmed his seat up more than the past seasons performance alone would have. He needs a really good season to quell that altogether.

I'm looking to his seat cooling considerably

He needs to have a great season, not just a good season. Scott Woodward may not be actively looking for any little reason to fire Orgeron, but he hasn’t been real happy with some of his antics since that picture with the Tangipa-hoa surfaced.

Woodward is wanting to make his own signature hire as head football coach at LSU, so yes, Orgeron’s seat could heat up pretty fast. And with these first time coordinators, this is a perfect staff to fire the whole bunch and start over, if necessary, much like baseball this past season.

And yes, I love that in his introductory video, President Tate threw down the gauntlet to Orgeron and the football program and said, “We WILL beat Alabama … regularly.”

Coach O got screwed in 2020 from coaching defections to NFL level talent defections/opt outs + QB got hurt in week2.
WTF? LSU will be back strong in 2021. No worries.
