I noticed you conveniently left off the fact that 9 players were drafted off of our 2013 team (in the 2014 draft) (that's within my "last 3+ years" time frame). 5 of those 9 2014 draft picks were in the first 3 rounds, and include OBJ, Jarvis Landry, Trai Turner, Jeremy Hill, and Mett.

that has zero to do with the seasons i was talking about

quote:

Also, La'el Collins didn't technically get drafted in 2015 draft because of that crazy situation, but he clearly would've been a high pick in 2015 draft, so I'm adding that one.

has nothing to do with the classes I mentioned

quote:

Also, 6 other players were drafted in 2017, which means they were on the 2014 and 15 rosters (again, part of my 3+ year time frame. 6 of those were first round picks, and 3 were first rounders.

has nothing to do with classes i mentioned.

you're trying to count true freshman and true sophomores as nfl talent.

quote:

Add it up, and we had 25 (!) NFL draft picks on our roster from 2013-15. And I didn't even do the research to find undrafted free agents that made NFL rosters (Russell Shepard is one, I think, Freak was another, and I'd suspect there are more).

bama's 2016 draft class was almost as big as our 2015& 2016 draft class combined.

Again, 6 different sec programs had more players drafted than lsu in 2015 draft

6 different sec programs either equaled or surpassed the number of lsu players drafted in 2016

we had 2 players make a 2015 all sec 1st team

we had 1 lsu player make all sec 1st team in 2014.

blame Miles for the dip in talent all you want but you can't sit here and say our 2014 & 2015 teams were so much more talented than other sec programs.
quote:

24 draft picks (plus La-el Collins) from the 2013, 2014, and 2015 rosters is more than enough to support my argument.

19 programs had more players drafted in the 2015 draft than lsu

16 programs either equaled or surpassed the number of lsu players drafted in the in 2016 draft.
6 programs either equaled or surpassed the number of lsu players drafted in the in the 2017 draft.

our 2002 roster had 20 future nfl players and we lost 5 games with the greatest coach in modern cfb history.

but I also agree that a better tactician wouldve won more than Miles did with that talent and I also admit we had unacceptable losses considering the talent we had.

LSU is definitely a power program. All you have to do is look at recruiting and what other coaches, players, and analysts have to say in respect to LSU football. LSU is without a doubt a power program...It's LSU dude, those 3 letters carry some serious weight and garner respect in college football. That's just a fact, there's no debating that. Now, have we fallen short of our goals and underperformed these last few years? Of course we have, and most are in agreement that it was due to our former head coach and coaching staff. They had all the resources, talent, and support you could ever want. They chose to run an antiquated offense far after teams figured out he to stop it. Lack of qb development and the lack of quality recruiting evaluation at qb also played a huge part in our underperformance as a team. With all that being said, we still could go out there and play with any team in the nation and have a shot at winning...we are a power program.

How about we blame Leslie for not being able to coach that talent up.

There is a difference between a chef and a cook. Give a chef mediocre ingredients, and he can make it the best thing you've tasted, give a cook the best, and it is just a meal. Les was a cook at best.

Yes. How many teams are in the top 25 almost all year every year? I would guess about 10 including LSU. Each year you will have a few fly by night teams in the top 5-10 who are nowhere to be found the next year.

Any guesses as to why Alabama always takes the week off and prepares for two weeks for us?

LSU would've been Alabama's equal this decade if not for the red-headed stepchild of the Big 12.

I'm surprised our brand is still as strong as it is after the last 2-3 years of Miles.

Some of you clowns do crack me up. That "antiquated offense" produced the forth best total offense in the SEC and gained more yards per game than Alabama in 2015.

It wasn't the offense as much as not having an effective QB.

Awesome, print the shirts!

Just ignore the fact that Miles went 15-11 against the SEC, 10-10 against the West, in his last 3+ years.

"15-11"

And now, for the rest of the story. That 15 and 11 was the second best in the SEC for that time.

Maybe not as good as we would like, but certainly not some terrible failure.

No, it was the offense.

True, our QB play has been poor, but a lot of that is running the wrong sceme for the QB's skill set, and EXTREMELY predictable play calling.

Coaching, you know.

Sorry, but with the talent we had, 10-10 against the West absolutely IS a terrible failure.

The offense produced more yard than Alabama. So, you are wrong.
