Is LSU still viewed as a power house in football?

Or did that all change the past few years? If you don't think LsU is a powerhouse (big named program), what will it take to be a respectable team in the near future and for all the top recruits to have us in their top 4/hat on the table again?

All my buddies in ohio think Lsu is overrated and a joke lately. How's the rest of the nation view us? Crazy how a title loss makes us look bad, but other teams beatdowns have no effect.

You can thank Les for the downturn of opinion.

But, ask your buddies what happened the last time LSU played a certain team from Ohio.

Your Ohio friends have a point. Thanks Les.

People know us for having filthy defense, that's all!! I talked with 2 huge FSU fans from Tallahassee this summer and they raved about our defense but admitted we weren't elite because of the offense.

Well, if "lately" means the last 3+ years under Miles then yes, we've underachieved with a shitload of NFL talent on our roster.

I never worry about what idiots or pundits say. Just win on the field and ignore the noise.

In general a team can be considered a "powerhouse" with Top 5 finishes over an extended period. In my opinion, I would say in 5-6years a team that finishes in the Top 5 4 or more of those years is considered a powerhouse. Wins over Top 20 competition solidify their strength. Recruiting will come with this and being able to churn out NFL further strengthens the case as well.

No he didn't. LSU is littered with NFL talent and Miles is the guy who hired Aranda..

My opinion: LSU is on the same plane as Oklahoma and Miami. As a tier goes, I'd put us about there.

Above Clemson, Florida, UCLA and Stanford.

About the same as Florida State and Notre Dame...

Below Michigan, Alabama, USC and Ohio State.

LSU has everything a powerhouse football team requires. Unfortunately our record the last few years doesn't show it.

I think you are the joke, and a troll. Lsu finished 15th last year right? Not great but certainly not a joke. Ask the Heisman winner what he thinks. Vegas has them top 10.

If our Offensive strategy & QB development had been nearly as good as our defense over the last half-dozen years... well u know.

Even Nicky realized post-season games are likely to require high octane.
I have no luv for Kiffin, yet hiring him was a smart move --recruits of each successive videogame / twitter generation are looking for alot of explosiveness.

- let's hope Canada delivers *The Octane™*
