o, we are not a blue blood. 2011 taught you that.

So you don't understand the term blue blood. Got it

Oh, I understand it completely, especially in the terms of how CFB, as a sport, defines a blue blood.

A Blue Blood would NEVER have been required to beat a team AGAIN that they already beat ON THE ROAD at that point in time/history. ESPN/Media even dropped the "Every Game Counts" motto they were pumping for years after the real Blue Blood lost the "Game of the Century".

So, yes, my understanding of how CFB works is dead on.

Should LSU be considered a blue blood? YES.

Does the CFB Media (the entity that really runs the sport) consider LSU a blue blood? NO

LSU will always be one of those teams that will have to win their division, conference, AND have a similar record as the top teams in contention to be considered for a title. The Blue Bloods can lose important games, not win their conference, not win their division, and still get in the title games or playoffs.

When the coach of ND leaves for your school, your school might be a blue blood.

How many teams have 3 CFB natty’s this century?

I’d say that should be the ‘blueblood’ standard

Winsipedia has us as the #10 ranked program, though these rankings give the same weight to bowl games as national championships. Still it's a fun website to look at.

Not sure if mentioned yet but I really believe going back to 1959 season game @ Tenn if B Cannons 2 pt run conversion is good (as should have been) Tigers would win that and be named MNC for back to back years and put them in a whole different class with some of the so called Blue Blood teams and maybe mindset for the following years.

It works like this:

Saban is the new money generation who broke into the Blue Blood Party. Miles and ED O continued to be successful, garner invites to the party; but, ultimately showed we were still new money attitude. However, if Kelly gets a championship and has long term success our "new money" tag will evaporate by nature of time spent hob knobbing amongst the Blue Bloods. Cause sooner or later there will be a younger "New Money" team to start taking all the flack..

It started before Saban.

Dinardo brought the magic back and thats inarguable. Saban elevated it but Dinardo led this program back to relevance and a top 15 program.

LSU is either 11 or 12 in all time wins IMO you should make the “blue books “ a little longer list and add LSU, NEB, FL, AU and perhaps Miami or Clemson.

I dont think LSU is a blue blood. But they are a power. If the bottom three are on a list, so is LSU.

There are the obvious Blue Bloods:
Bama
Mich
Ohio St
USC
OK
TX
ND
Penn St
Tenn
GA

Bama
OSU

Only recently relevant BBs on that list. UGA is new to the party.

LSU is a BB; 2nd in national titles only to Bama since 2000.

There's an argument for Mich & USC but not anyone else on that list imo given RECENT history.

Arnsparger had us more on the cusp than Dinardo, and I'm not even shitting on Dinardo with that point.

Oh I agree...they were supplanted in that top 15 but then fell off.

Saban gets the credit for getting them back but I don't think Dinardo get enough credit for getting them back to a top 15 program while Saban took that and elevated it.

You have several programs listed as a NO that have won NC’s inside your 25 year threshold. Florida actually has 2. So what gives??
