Nah, it's on the 50 of the IPF and looks a million times better than the trashy logo in the stadium

“Looking better” is not the only thing that matters when tradition is at play.

The current end zones technically look better but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t go back to the old end zones

Even if I agreed with you, I still wouldn’t give you the satisfaction. I’ve watched you post and it’s always negative , I think you’re a fake LSU fan or an alter
That’s if you’re the guy that’s on the recruiting board , if I’m mistaken , I apologize, if I’m right frick you . Lol

People fought to near death to bring back the eye, now you want it gone?

Check out the LSU logo at midfield in the 90's and tell me which is better.

The eye is unique. It is not a normal team logo at midfield, nor a generic item like a football helmet.

What year did the eye return?

All I know is I watched a lot of bad football in the 90’s with the old logo, and a lot of good football since the eye returned.

The eye logo was used in the 90s. Dinardo changed to ugly/plain block L S U in yellow when he came in and the endzones were plain yellow T I G E R S. Saban changed it back to the eye. In 1993 they used the 100 anniversary logo.

YES! It's always been embarrassing the eye was inspired by a shitty pop song from a cheesy band.

bringing "classy" into any argument about college football is a non-starter. Are you an Ole Miss fan?

Not sure if serious meme probably needs to be inserted here but in case you are serious….The “tiger eye” is probably the most iconic on field logo in all of college football. What may have started with a song has ended up being almost a trademark of sorts for LSU. I guess next you will troll that the school colors are old and outdated and need to be changed and the tiger mascot is of a bygone era…right ?

Again? What do those logos have that the eye does not?

What isn’t “classy” about the eye?

We already covered this. It's a Walmart logo. The correlation between people who think the tiger eye logo looks good and never stepped foot into an LSU classroom has got to be near 1:1.

anyone know what it was before the eye and historically? anyone got pictures?

I know for 1997 Florida, i remember it being just LSU across midfield.

I think sailor mike was one time the midfield and maybe the helment tiger was too at one time.

Lets see the pictures.

this old thread has some info

quote:

The eye made its debut on Oct. 15, 1983, for LSU’s homecoming game against Kentucky. The Tigers lost 21-13, and not long after, the eye lost its place on the field.

LSU stopped using the eye logo during Joe Dean’s tenure as athletic director in the late 1980s. During the years that the Eye of the Tiger logo wasn’t used, block LSU letters were used at midfield, and before that, a state of Louisiana with the school letters over it.

When Nick Saban took over as LSU’s head coach going into the 2000 season, he was shown the eye logo and insisted that it return to midfield.
