Is it time to renew the Tulane series?

The only way this would work is if Tulane agrees to renew the series as a Home and Dome. LSU will not play a game at their stadium. It’s a nice stadium for the American Conference but it’s just too small.
It has to be in the Dome and at Tiger Stadium. The main reason I say it might be time is because Tulane has clearly started taking FB seriously once again. They have had a good run the past 5 or so years. Personally I say drop the one if the OOC games like Nicholls and play Tulane during rivalry week like the rest of the country mostly does.

You're not going to schedule a AAC team who could beat you. You schedule total cupcakes and a top B1G or ACC or ND every year. You don't play schools in between those 2 categories.

The same school that makes us buy season tickets to THEIR games in any sport, just to be able to get them for the LSU game? frick them.

in modern college football, it doesn't make sense to play the game.
if you beat Tulane, you beat a G5 team that doesn't carry too much weight.
if you lose to Tulane, you significantly hurt your record and strength of and all that statistical bullshite.
it'd be great to see the two teams on the football field again, but Tulane (having had recent and decent success) won't only come to Tiger Stadium for the game and LSU will never play in Yulman due to ticket sales and money shite and Tulane won't agree to play in the dome.
so, neaux. it isn't time to renew the Tulane series.

Would be okay with this, but SEC is sticking with LSU-OU for now.

They're not worth playing every year.

Every other year, you make Tulane the home team in Tiger Stadium and give them a much bigger allotment of tickets. LSU sells the game to its own fans as an away game.

I think it would be fun to play them and ULL every season home and homes.

Why would you give up home games for either of those two teams?
Playing an instate school home and home or even home and dome for Tulane would only work if you eliminate any bigger games that require a home and home or neutral site (no Clemson, USC, FSU, UCLA, etc. games or special event openers). I'd be OK with hat and I think would be acceptable in the current CFP environment. WIll that change, though

For the sake of what?
-How would LSU benefit from swapping a home Nichols game with a Home and Away Tulane game? Look at the teams that are making the playoffs. A common denominator is easy schedule.
-What should LSU do to recover the every other year revenue of a home game? This is a $ arms race. Revenue is important especially for schools that don't have Texas pocketbooks.

While Kelly is coach we need to schedule Southern for every season opener

Put them on the list of revolving Louisiana schools that we play every year so that we play them 1x every 5-8 years. I'd rather watch LSU play Tulane than Southeastern or ULM or Grambling/Southern or McNeese.

Thread # 103 about this subject. As I keep saying, the weenies have not sold their ticket allotments to games in TS in decades. If they don't care why should any Tiger fan be pushing for this game? As well, those cupcakes teams are all State schools; tulane is a private school & would get to keep all monies for itself. 80% + of its students /alums are from out of State, many from the East Coast. I'd much rather State money go to schools like Nicholls, whose student body is largely comprised of La.. students, up & down the Bayou & all around.

most sensible post on his board in years

No. frick Tulane. We tried this and they want to be cock suckers about it. We don’t need to feed their program and we’re not playing in a 15K stadium. Let it die.

No, it’s completely uninteresting. They’ve won like 4 games against us in 80 years.
I look at Tulane like ULL/ULM

Does anyone remember the LSU / Tulane game that ended in a free for all fight? 1984 Shawn Burks NAILED that guy... ended with 15 seconds left... I was there.

No more teams with a pulse outside of the SEC schedule.
