It’s a stupid question 3 weeks into the season.

the same people in this thread saying he is better than Cruz will scream for him to be benched the first time he goes 0-4.

Its going to be fun watching Curiel develop a little power over this season and next. 1 thing he's missing.

Wish we had him for 3 years but I doubt it

No it’s not. The first at bat I watched Curiel have, I immediately thought his swing looked just like Ken Griffey Jr.

Curiel’s swing is so smooth and so natural. His plate discipline is off the charts.

So… to compare a freshman with immense talent and gifts to another great player (as a freshman) it’s not a stupid question. It’s simply seeing unbelievable talent and maturity and being highly complimentary to him by comparing him to another great LSU player when he was a freshman.

Absolutely they are.

But… some of us are simply comparing the natural talent and maturity of both players, not their style of play.

Crews hit .362 with 18 home runs his freshmen year.

Curiel is a monster but come on.

Thank you… crews is the best player to ever wear the jersey and it’s not really close. Maybe compare Curiel to someone else

Downvote for spelling. Also, not even into SEC play.

Agree with the first part. Walker and Furniss make it close though.

Exactly. Crewes hit .362 /. 453 / .663 as a freshman. Curiel is fantastic & is gonna hit, but I’m not sure Curiel touches any of those numbers. Definitely not the slugging portion

Also worth noting Curiel is 10 months older than Crews was as a freshman. That’s a whole school grade.

That's a much better comp, but won't be made because of the positions they play.

Crews is the best player in LSU history. Curiel will be an all time great, but not Crews great.
