Like the OP said, CBK isn’t worried about shite; he can’t lose either way which is obviously why he came to LSU. And yep, hopefully this becomes a moot point when we natty up this year.

It’s really not. Brian Kelly is the 8th highest paid coach. It’s not like he’s the far and away highest paid coach.

If you want a top level coach, you have to pay the toll.

Think he's 9th now

Another beautiful theory about to be murdered by a brutal gang of facts. You are that guy who goes to a McDonald's and orders a big mac and bitches because it took them 4 minutes to get it to you instead of 3 and a half minutes and you know absolutely nothing about what it takes to build a football team from a dumpster fire a previous coach left.

First CBK was smart enough and had the foresight to get Jaden Daniels here who won the Heisman
Second he coached this team to the SEC title game his first year
Third he has won 10 games every year in the most difficult conference while trying to build this team having to do this with all the changes with NIL and the portal
Fourth he has only been here for 3 years and has accomplished more than I expected or probably most any KNOWLEDGEABLE (not you) fan would expect.

Why don't you stop watching because you will never be satisfied. Here's your book, in fact here's two.

I remember no coach wanted to come to LSU & compete with Saban when the roster was decent. By default CEO came saw conquered & burnt to the ground. CBK accepted the challenge & finally has a roster ready to "start" being competitive. The next few seasons "should" be epic.

Agree beside one win vs Bama and Sec W the rest has been average at best! He has 2-3 games a year where the team isn’t prepared, can’t make adjustments and he stands there and can’t or won’t make in game adjustments. Just scoreboard watching until it’s over and a coach speak presser. But the game check cleared$$$$

He has done everything, professional style players that seem to hold eachother accountable, there are still wild ones but not as bad. His profession is a result based though, and he has come up short in major ways embarrassing the university in his first game of every season.

If he doesn’t allow his team to fall flat on there face game 1 I think we all have a different tune.losing to FSU two years in a row and then to a shitty USC team. Those losses spoke volumes on offseason work ethic or tenacity can’t decide which. If he wins those games we all have a different tune and lsu has a record of 11-3, 11-2, 10-3. Regardless of those first losses lsu has undoubtedly improved. Only an idiot would contradict that.

The difference is the style of play and tenacity.

I am confident this years team knows the importance of coming out firing on all cylinders from the very first kickoff. I think we come out fast and mean af. Oline is a trial by fire, win some you lose some but if your not being mean af throwing dudes around playing nasty in the trenches then your out.

_________

This is silly. You are well aware of his record. His has won more games than any other active coach. His record at LSU is also good. The expectation is to win a natty. The fact that he hasn't won one yet doesn't mean he has failed. His story is still being written. Kelly is not Saban, but who is?

Big part of it too is coaches want more rope than fanbases are willing to give for the most part. People wanna run off coaches if they don’t win a title within 3 years but there are only 3 active HC’s with titles; Ryan Day, Kirby Smart & Dabo Swinney. Day didn’t win a title until year 5, Kirby year 5 & Dabo not until year 7. Before he went back to the league, Harbaugh got a ton of heat and didn’t win a title until year 8. A lot of these contracts are an attempt to safeguard against a quick trigger by these schools.

I was a big Coach O fan , because he is a Louisiana boy and I pull for the underdog . He had a historic season . After that , instead of going to admin and saying , hey , I need help replacing my staff and recruiting … he was notably absent . He did not leave the program nor admin in a good place . He will never be invited back . He only has himself to blame . One has to wonder whether this sudden quest to return to college football has to do with his wife getting a large part of the LSU settlement ?? Just wondering …

Its not just firing Kelly and paying the buyout, who is even worth the money your going to invest on both ends of it? Lane Kiffin? Lance Leopold? Curt Cignetti? Your not getting, Kirby, Sark, Lincoln or anything more proven than Kelly. Its just not worth it.

That’s pure horseshite. Totally laughable. They had a hard schedule, last year, but Kelly walked into a far worse situation at LSU in terms of roster numbers than UF did. Give me a fricking break.
