What evidence do you have to support this or is this pure speculation as I expect it is?

This is spot on! All you idiots give Davis NO credit for the 4 OL that were drafted last year. Davis was mentored by one of the best in Sam Pittman. BK was vocal about wanting to sign and develop OL lighter, quicker hence the decent pass- blocking. But they weren't big/strong enough to handle SEC DTs. BKs system was pure dog shot. It's amazing to me that y'all wanna blame Davis AND get rid of all our OL, no matter how talented they are, he Weston Davis. Bunch of freaking idiots on this site!

Yet, the 2024 OL overall looked like dogshit, we could not run the ball at all! Like others are saying, he may have gotten talent, but he sure didn't coach them up!

I’m supposed to give Brad Davis credit for having 4 offensive linemen that were talented enough to get drafted, but still not being able to teach them to run block? Hell, this year they said on an ESPN broadcast that during practice, BK had to step in and help the OL work on how to get in a 3 point stance. This was 2 weeks into the season.

It’s what was reported pretty widely about what caused the rift between Kelly and Fay Scott.

Kelly always had good to great OL’s at ND. Davis was the problem and Kelly wants him gone.

He had the authority to untie any hands, if only he knew how......he didn't, so LSU just kept trotting out the same old crap every game, and hoping for something better to happen.....I mean didn't you see that last run in the game?????

OP, you're one clueless dude! (Most likely Drunk & High a lot too, like so many on here) I'm sick and tired of reading more BS about Brad "Sylvester" Davis. Let him sail off into the sunset along with the dude that hired him. (Shrimpy O)

We run block like it’s a pass play. Davis was a problem. Not being physical was on Kelly. Anyone hire Davis yet? Just curious. He apparently was a “spy” for Woodward.

I always wondered if Woodward made kelly hire him. He always had good lines at Notre Dame

There was a Post, sometimes back, indicating that Woody hired him and kept him to Coach the Bowl game.

Davis is horrible. He was the hot OL name in CFB when he came to us, but it didn't take long to realize we got played and wasted a lot of money.

LSU head coach Brian Kelly is reportedly being fired following a 5-3 start to the 2025 campaign. Now more details are starting to emerge about internal issues that Kelly had with LSU.

According to college football insider Matt Fortuna, tensions between Kelly and athletic director Scott Woodward arose over the future of offensive line coach Brad Davis.

This stemmed from a meeting between Kelly and Woodward today. The report says that after Woodward requested Kelly fire offensive coordinator Joe Sloan, the head coach stated he would also let go of Davis. Per Fortuna, that message did not go over well with Woodward.

What "Recruiting Prowess?" He didn't recruit jack shite to LSU in 4 years;
Davis signed at least one 5 star OL in each of the last 3 seasons at LSU. He is known as one of the best OL recruiters in the business. Shut up.
quote:

just a bunch of overrated "Kardell Thomas" types that could not handle LSU/SEC level of OL either mentally or physically.
Brad Davis did not sign Kardell Thomas. Brad Davis signed Will Campbell, Emory Jones, Lance Heard, Tyree Adams, Weston Davis, and Soloman Thomas.

You often have no idea what you're talking about. Davis was a shite O Line coach. There is a reason Woodward's final parting order (which was denied and part of the reason he was fired) was for Kelly to fire Davis. To say he was a bad recruiter is not only subjectively stupid, it's objectively false.

This is wrong.

Kelly wanted to hold on to Sloan and Davis.

Brad Davis was a bad OL coach that allegedly, by some, was forced upon Kelly by Woodward.

With that said, it could totally be false. Just stating what I was told, but he wasn't even 100% sure. "He said-she said" BS.
