I certainly like any representation of LSU sports but the guy is a political blowhard that I wish would stop talking for a while.

I'm with those that don't mind him representing LSU but don't agree with him politically.
I probably have never agreed with that dude, but his is freakin hilarious, LOVES LSU, and the best I can tell, has affected the school positively.

The "Carville-Temple" spot is a theme spot. Other SEC schools have an alum of note talking about an alum of distinction.
So if they are going to have an "alum of note" narrating the spot, who should replace Carville? I would think Shaq would the most famous alum. But outside of him, who else should do this? Who's famous enough that people see (or hear, Carville scores well on this one) him or her and think LSU or Louisiana.

Shaq is awesome and everything but narrating is one thing I wouldn't want Shaq to do if he is trying to be serious.

You should have heard him speak at the Manship School last month. It was an awesome speech.
The only thing political he had to say was to rail on Jindal's budget cuts for LSU.
You can dislike the guy's politics, but Carville loves LSU, promotes LSU, and fights for LSU. If you love LSU also....you should be proud of that.
Oh and on the budget cuts.....Carville = right and Jindal = WRONG. Don't sink the flagship.

Nope, not at all. Keep on rockin' James!

Wow. I guess it's safe to say that the original poster didn't get the response he expected. I love Carville and I am more than happy having any visible, national figure promoting the Tigers. It's hard to knock someone who bleeds purple and gold anytime, anywhere. And, oh yeah, I do agree with his politics. The man's brilliant!

isn't it the Louisiana laws that are wrong? the laws Jindal is pushing to get changed so that Higher Education and Health Services aren't the 1st thing on the chopping block?

Of course that's easy for Carville to say, he's only concerned about LSU.

Yeah but he cut taxes knowing they were first on the chopping block. He knew this would happen, and he did it anyways.
Seems like he is trying to get the laws changed now that people are upset about LSU.

If Jindal doesn't recognize the extent of the benefits and services that LSU provides to this state he is a freakin idiot.
Just look at the AgCenter for an example. LSU has a whole network of research facilities and scientists that do nothing but research ways to make Louisiana farming more efficient and productive. They then disseminate this information for free to any farmer willing to listen.
LSU benefits this entire state....not just the students.

no, i like him representing LSU. He's funny, knows his sports, clearly is an intelligent man, and loves the school. i don't give 2 shits about politics, so i can look beyond the retarded hot button issues that too many people cling to.

He was invited as a "professor of practice" after giving a commencement speech at Tulane in May 2008, accepted, and moved his family down to N.O. for the time being. Maybe LSU should have invited him.
As far as being sick of him, would some of you rather hear him constantly ranting about his love for Alabama or Florida? I'm glad he's as passionate as he is for LSU!

?
there really isn't a choice, Louisiana needs to cut its budget. Change the laws for the long term benefit, which is what he is doing.
