Is Alleva in any danger of losing his job?

LSU sports will always make money as long as the football team stays competitive. Barring a huge scandal like his Duke lacrosse situation, I don't see him being fired. Best case scenario would be another school offering him more money. Is LSU stuck with him?

Alleva is overdue to be "reassigned."

Excellent question. At this point, it really is a head scratcher.
And he's made no statement about it all. Not one word.

In LSU basketball, the team is represented by two separate yet equally terrible people. Johnny Jones, who is a garbage coach; and Joe Alleva, who is a cuck loser bitch. These are their stories.

This is completely my opinion, but I don't think F King Alexander gives a single frick about athletics. He's a dumbass SJW yankee who's doing a really good job with improving the physical infrastructure of LSU and a horrible job at everything else. Until Alexander is gone, we won't see much improvement of our administrative competitiveness/seriousness in athletics. Bama is killing it right now because EVERYONE is on board from top to bottom. We're not there right now

Didn't know Kentucky was Yankee territory.

I wish Alleva and Jones would do a Thelma and Louise.

Alleva has his wagon hooked to Orgeron. The results of the next two seasons of football will determine his job status in my opinion. He'll fire Jones and hire someone else, and that buys him two or three seasons to say the basketball team needs to rebuild under the new coach, but if Orgeron fails, I don't think there's anyway he keeps his job. You can frick up a basketball hire and get away with it, but if you frick up in football and start messing up the revenue stream of the sport that supports all the others, well, then you can expect him not to last long after that. That's the lifeblood of the athletic department, so his job security will flow with the football team I think, but who the frick knows really.

He should be. His shitty hires has run the basketball program into the ground. No way he should be able to make the next hire. He is the single biggest problem with the athletic program period!!!!!!

The problem with Alleva, IMO, is that he is just mediocre that doesn't have that competive personality to lead a sports department other than the administration part. He may be great at keeping the money coming in and he seems fine with being mediocre if that gets him more funds.
I believe an AD should not only have the department making money but also have the competitiveness and drive to raise all programs to that of the Elite sports programs.
Every single sport should be above average just because of the money they make and support to get the best out of the student athletes.
We do have some elite teams in: Gymnastics, Baseball and Softball.
The football team will always make enough for all other teams to be supported, especially those that struggle. Mens and womens basketball for instance.
The football team has declined for the last few years and it will mostly trickle down to the other sports using his methods of running a major university Athletic Department.
But I agree with the Orgeron thing. If O fails then I guarantee he points to the other sports teams and shows how well they are doing.
I don't know what football brings in every year but if the profit drops with a bad season, I can see him getting fired. I just don't see how LSU could lose too much money tied in to the SEC.
LSU needs someone with ambition.
I'm just trying to figure what Alleva's motivation is because I don't think it's winning, more like making the department money only.
No way a boss watches his employees embarrassing the company the way Johnny has and not get fired. Sorry for the rant, I just see no way out of mediocrity.

Kentucky was a border state that, like Missouri and Maryland, had southern sympathies yet remained in the Union.

He should have never even gotten the job after the lacrosse scandal.
