In Woodward we trust: Reviving game-day and tailgating atmosphere since Alleva neutered it

Looking forward to what Woodward has in store for improvements to revive the game-day and tailgating experience. Nothing is comparable to the magic of being at Tiger Stadium on Saturday night. But between the parking debacle, corporate whoring, traffic clusterF, and Aramark concessions contract, Alleva and Alexander have slowly been sucking the life out of the fan atmosphere.
If anyone can fix some of these deteriorating problems that have reared their ugly head in recent years, it's Woodward. I'm confident we'll see some changes, sooner than later, and that he'll bring back the glory of the best tailgating experience in football.

I just saw an article today about corporate tailgating for purchase...

This is really maddening and sad. We need more purple colors closer to the stadium. We need to bring back that party atmosphere of the past and make tailgating a spectacle again ... not some corporate bullshite.

I thought that my feeling pretty much the exact same way as the author of that article does was just me getting older and being a bitch. He nails just about all of my issues though.

There is no doubt Woody can be the savior of the LSU fan experience

Unpopular opinion: Tailgating does not necessarily = attendance. There are enough tailgaters on a given Saturday to more than fill the stadium. In fact, I would argue for a negative correlation. People complain about the awful parking and traffic, which in large measure is caused by tailgaters who aren't even paying customers. Alleva did a lot of things wrong, but I favored his attempts to get the freeloaders off campus.

Based on the fact that he is not Joe Alleva's moronic arse, and the hopes that nobody could possibly be worse.

news flash. this year one of the few remaining paved lots for gameday parking was made into a reserve lot. He's not doing us any favors yet.

I agree Jim, I would like to ban any cars from campus that does not have a football ticket. If you freeload, park off campus and walk around. Don't take up parking for the PAYING public.

I hate Alleva and like Woodward as much as the next guy, but they have nothing to do with traffic nightmares.

Only allow ticket holders (student exception) access to the campus and parking lots. The game day atmosphere should be for those attending the game. Sorry, freeloaders. Stay home with your tv.

The fact that he has a track record of getting shite done; he's an alum that bleeds purple and gold and is familiar with the fan experience; and he has significant political capital that he can tap into outside the athletic dept. and university if need be to facilitate changes.

He mentioned this in passing during an interview he gave recently, I think we’ll see improvement next season.

How are you not a freeloader if you only go to games when someone at your corporate tailgate gives you tickets?
