IMO the refs predetermined they were not going to call any Michigan fouls on Thomas.

I know Thomas had a good game but it could have been better if the refs called the fouls on Michigan when he drove to the paint. It seems like they missed four obvious calls that would have sent Thomas to the line but it ended up helping Michigan on the other end with the no call which started a Michigan run.

This game reminds me of when we played Wisconsin in 2006 (?) and they were so physical and the refs swallowed their whistles.

Michigan was big and physical and the lack of calls made it impossible for our game to be completely successful

I'm not one to think games are fixed but some of those calls made me wonder. That play where Michigan stepped out of bounds made me yell at the tv it was so obvious

By calling that offensive foul on Dickenson late they admitted that they had been letting him get away with offensive fouls all game

Michigan played as physical if not more physical in the first half...they had 5 fouls. Second half they started to call some but it was too late. Dickinson fouled more than I’ve ever seen a player in college basketball. He got 4 fouls in the second half and it could have been 10 if they called fouls when we drove. The fact he had 0 in the first half is absolutely laughable.

Big Dick threw an intentional shoulder on a set pick in first half ; can’t remember if it was Gaines but should have been a foul and possibly reviewed

I don’t know that it was intentional, because there were some bad calls both ways.

What I do know is the way the game was officiated completely neutralized a top 4 scorer. Love it or hate it Thomas lives off getting to the line by generating contact in his drives. Officials let him get pushed around all night. Our best shooter should’ve been at the line for at least 8 more free throws and Mich defenders should’ve been in foul trouble.

These officials called the game in a way completely inconsistent with how the rest of our games were officiated. That’s the problem. Different crews have different standards and tendencies and tonight those calls were clearly not in LSUs favor.

It was a case of a player having a reputation for embellishing contact (rightly or wrongly), and the officials likely being made aware of that by Howard early on.

I felt that Howard intimidated the officials , similar to Oates , he was constantly barking at them

Ya I’m sure that was part of their pre game meeting. Probably met with Vitale about it too.

Some of our fans are as whiney about refs as they are about Saban

It was days and should have been reviewed. You could see his head go back from being hit. It was an absolute embarrassing display from those officials. The missed baseline call on Michigan was blatant

I saw early in the game that they were going to give Dickinson wide lattitude to abuse players. I really thought that Wade in the first half should have gotten a trash man to go in and harass Dick so as to force him into fouls. But it was not so much Dickinson as the WIDE OPEN THREES!!!!

They were not fouls, UM was great at jumping straight up and not bringing their arms down.

The rule of verticality.

The “charge” combined with the last play made it obvious.

Pathetic that an agenda played a role. The kids deserved better

Cam got his wrist slapped driving to go down 4

Also the "offensive foul" with Michigan dude moving

Countless others. Cam hit the deck at least 5 times not including those 2

That one was horrible. Took away a basket and what should have been an "and 1". That created a big momentum swing when LSU could have gotten back in the game. The announcers took issue with that call too.

Cam shot more FT than any player in that game, on either team.

And team FT were Michigan 25, LSU 23, so virtually even.

The cheating ref narrative is utterly embarrassing.

That call on the "charge" killed any chance. We are down 6, but should have been 3 after the FT with I believe 3+ mins left.

2nd worst was the non OB called, easy call.

Officiating didn't completely lose us the game, but it definitely dictated the outcome.
