They played an extra game we didn’t. Our offense is what we rely on

Their starter in the first game today went 100+ pitches. They didn’t burn much of their own today.

They are going to go to their starter on Fri just like we will.

After that, we will likely see the same guys we saw on Sat.

They got through two games today without using their best relievers. They have a decent bit left. As do we.

The guy who threw 109 pitches two days ago?

You heard the broadcast and you’re running with it.

If they toss that guy out there, we will feast.

Difference is Hilliard only threw 55 pitches. I don’t know how many Hall threw but he pitched 8 innings. So even if he pitches he won’t be out there long. LSU has already seen and hit some of their better bullpen guys Saturday night. Now if they got another one of those lefties that only threw 9 innings all year I’m nervous.

I think they used 3 pitchers in that game, and 2 of them could play tomorrow.

I envy your confidence. Our pitching this weekend has been less than stellar.

How are you not worried about our pitching lol?

This has been an eye opener as to how bad our pitching staff is, not super suprised but when USM has 3 guys better than your number 1 and another 2-3 atleast as good as your number 1.

That’s telling. Yes we rely on offense, but you can’t expect to score 10 runs every game and at this point we score 10 or lose.

Our pitching is the worst it’s been in a long-long time. It’s the biggest worry we have today, tomorrow, next year……

USM’s coach has been pretty masterful so far with their pitching. They still have arms and can bring back a few we have seen. Bottom line if we don’t hit and let balls drop in the outfield it’s not gonna matter.

Hopefully we aren't guaranteeing any wins this time, we're not in a great position to do that.

They only have their 4 starters and the lightning in a bottle guy from tonight that threw more than an inning all weekend.

I’m guessing this guy gets the start. He has the most starts of anybody not burnt. But he could be hurt for all I know, I’m just looking at stats

2 days rest after 100 pitches probably isn’t the best idea.

Southern Miss is not stupid, and we are not going to start Tanner Hall. Ben Ethridge will probably start, but a short leash. Best has not thrown yet. You will see a lot of repeat bullpen guys before you see any of the 3 starters, but I would not rule them out.

It's not optimal.

But, they will have him (3 innings), the setup guy from Saturday (2 innings), the closer (2 innings) and the guy that pitched after the closer (2 innings)

How effective they will be is a different question. But, they will have guys out there who have shown they can get us out. The only guy we hit hard was the closer. And, he'll be fresh.

Also Hillard puts less stress on his arm with the style of pitching, usm guy is a power pitcher, he will not have his stuff. Got to get on them early and go for the throat. .
