He deserves a recruiting cycle or two. But damn. We have no business being THIS bad. We should be concerned.

He had until year 3 in my mind. Based on the last 7 games, unless he does something dramatic to end the season he has to do markedly better next year to make it to year 3.

Exactly how I feel. But this shite show has been tough to watch.

Just have to accept that the LSU men’s basketball program is going to be below average for several more years. Just like The New Orleans Saints.

Look at Nick and his first year at Bama. How do we know what the future holds.

I hope he can somehow start turning things around next year, but Saban's first year at Bama was extremely competitive. Yes, they lost to ULM, but they also upset some ranked teams and never lost by more than 7 points the whole year. LSU barely snuck out of Bama with a W and we won the national championship. McMahon's team is not even competitive right now against even crappy teams.

If the goal is to compete for championships, and that should be to goal of EVERY major conference program, then the McMahon era is going to be a waste of time. The only question is how much time will be wasted?

Everyone in the “he just needs more time” crowd is going to be stunned when the roster turns over in the offseason (likely 7-8 new players) because that is the nature of college basketball and they realize the roster is WORSE than this year’s roster.

In NO WAY should this be a worst team in the SEC roster. Yet, that is EXACTLY where McMahon has them. He is remarkably falling well short of even the very low reasonable expectations he started with.

Sorry, I don't see it.

You didn’t see Darius days benefitting from staying at lsu either. Your basketball thoughts are even worse than your political beliefs.

To be fair he is on the Rockets, but he will not last in the NBA

Not freshman.. transfer portal additions. He would’ve brought someone in like Eason or Pinson. Game changing type players as he did every single season.

We are going to finish last in the SEC We have one SEC win and I think we have less than that next season

Doesn't he have a 10 year deal? That's what you have to offer to get a guy come to a school about to get sanctions & with no players from last season. Will take 4 + yrs. to dig out of this mess.

7 year deal. What sanctions? The narrative is that we dumped Wade to avoid sanctions... so does that mean Woodward screwed that up too?

Did you think that there was a full roster of a mid SEC level team in the portal and available freshmen last April when McMahon took over? Jesus some of you are clearly just some Wade lovers.

We should have hired a caretaker coach instead of a super long term deal to an unproven mid major coach. We don't know what his overall record would be without the unicorn Ja. There's only one Ja.

First of all, there is a world of difference between Eason and Pinson. And claiming he could pull another Eason out of the portal is ridiculous. Those don't happen every year.

This is so overblown. Last year's team only was .500 in the SEC.

Overblown, this year’s team has won 1 SEC game and might end up that way. Can you imagine the outrage if Brian Kelly or Jay Johnson had gone 1 and whatever in the SEC their first year. That’s prespective.

Oh no, you misunderstand.

He didn’t think days should go pro. He thought days should’ve transferred to a different school.

Are you seriously comparing Bama football and LSU Basketball?
Bama has probably won more National Championships in football than LSU SEC Championships in basketball.

It's silly to judge him with not even one full season of being at LSU

Not to mention the manner in which it happened
