But in all seriousness, it gets the rubes whipped up in a frenzy before and during games so it has its utility. I'm OK with it

I'm not a country fan or a Garth fan, but when the whole stadium is singing and shouting out the BATON ROUGE, I get freakin goosebumps. As a non-country fan, I hope that song stays part of the gameday experience pretty much forever. If there's a great rock song, ADD it. Don't replace the Garth one. That song is part of gameday.
