He won us a national championship, and Burrow credits Coach O. You posted a moronic thing.

I would not trade 2019 for anything. Having the greatest single season in CFB history is something nobody can take away. Lsu tea bagged everyone

Orgeron is on the beach polishing his championship ring with hundred dollar bills and probably laughing at your post.

.....he had one outstanding season. one. the rest was mediocre and then horrible which led to the program being gutted and it's still not recovered. Of course Burrow credits O. I'm not saying he had nothing to do with it. Just saying they could've actually done a coaching search. They made a lazy hire.

As much as people hate on O, and he had many flaws, 2019 was no fluke. O wanted to win a national championship and he made sure to get the right coaches and the best quarterback, and decided to overhaul the offense. He was taking a risk there, and it paid off. And think of the story of him getting Burrow. He relentlessly recruited him, got him everything he needed or wanted.

He accomplished what he set out to do in 2019, then his marriage fell apart and he lost the motivation he once had. He couldn't handle being king and the pandemic just destroyed any chance of him getting back on the horse.

Which doesn’t happen without O. We can go in circles with this all day but it’ll always end up back at the starting point which is the head coach

If Marty comes back to Baton Rouge with a sports almanac from the year 2054, we can hire the next Nick Saban and win multiple titles.

You got it completely backwards. Brady devised the passing offense. You obviously forgot that Ensminger was at LSU with Burrow in 2018 with a very mediocre offense. Brady comes in, overhauls the offense, and O let Ensminger take some of the credit because he was long time LSU Player and Coach. Brady leaves, and voila, we are back to crapola again.
Bring Brady back and LSU will be on the right track to again, and probably not until.

I wanted Tom Herman, that being said, 2019 was the best year of my life. Some for humanly, important reasons, and some for stupid shite I care too much about- like lsu sports. I wouldnt trade anything for our 2019 season. I cried during Joe’s Heisman speech. That shite was magical. If you have me a contract to sign to have 2019 and the subsequent aftermath, I’d have signed in blood. We had the perfect storm to build it, and the perfect storm of 2020 to burn it down.

Agree 10000%. 2019 was just incredibly special. Everything that’s happened since was worth it. Wouldn’t trade for anything.

They did. Tom Herman and Jimbo Fisher were reportedly the main candidates. Neither worked out. Herman was using LSU to get Texas to up the offer and for whatever reason Jimbo declined, probably because Alleva was a petulant child and didn't like negotiating.

IMO LSU really dropped the ball when they lazily transitioned O to head coach after firing Les. They should have gotten someone young with some fire and proven ability to win a natty. We could have still won a championship and maybe even another since then. I truly do believe Joe Brady carried that LSU 2019 team and it had little to do with O. If you don't see that I'm not sure how because the writing is all over the wall. We could've gotten a head coach after firing Miles that could still be in Baton Rouge and the program wouldn't be in the state that it's in.

You are not entirely wrong. 2019 happened because of Brady, Aranda and one of the best rosters we have ever seen.

And while it may be true that O was just along for the ride, like it or not, 2019 doesn’t happen without Ed.

Now, had we hired someone else, 2019 would have happed but we may have been more stable and consistent in the long run and won more championships. We will never know.

But only an idiot wound trade that year for an unknown hypothetical

The AD assumed since Kelly won a lot of games at ND it would translate to LSU and with the fertile recruiting grounds eventually a National Championship and a dominant program. We are finding out he was dead wrong.

Yeah it looks like BK can’t get it done. But like someone said, coaching hires are a crapshoot and BK was, on paper, an absolute home run.

Just because it isn’t working out, doesn’t make that false.

Not an Ed O defender by any stretch, but a lot of people discount the impact the Covid pandemic had.

I think it was when CBK carried the play sheet on the sidelines. Bryce was like...frick all that. I'm out.
