Why put pic of LSU in there if not?

To troll and get attention. That would be the reason. I have no clue if that's what he's doing.

Maybe O has learned his lesson and is bringing in a DC who will run the 3-4, or maybe he has been instructed to do so. Either way I hope Ika returns.

I honestly believe this as well. And, I believe O will likely hire a DC and allow him to run whatever he's comfortable with. Or at least I hope. But with certain guys we've recruited, someone is going to be pissed.

Well he’s played highschool ball and all star games.

With that caption paired with that picture he’s either planning on coming back or intentionally trolling.

But his intention was definitely to tell people he was coming back to Baton Rouge whether he’s trolling or not.

Thought the whole reason for him leaving was for a 3-4...... I mean, he was a starting DT

He left because the coaches decided to not play him in game 3 against Missouri and he played 13 snaps in game 4 against USC despite being arguably our best interior dlineman (going by PFF grading - this season). Coaches were being idiots, he called their bluff and went into the portal because he was pissed off, rightfully so.

Ika is good enough to play in any defensive scheme, he can make plays. He looked really good early on this year, blew up USC multiple times in his last game here.

Downvote away but Gilbert’s actions say more about Gilbert than the program.

When you lose your best offensive players 3 times in one season due to opt outs people start wondering about what the hell is going on.

My statement isn’t an insult to any player on this team. It’s just a statement of fact about the outside perceptions and perception is important in a sport reliant on recruiting both players and assistant coaches like college football is.

You can disagree all you want but that doesn’t change the facts.

The 3-4 vs 4-3 debate has proven 97% of this board doesn’t know shite about football

Exactly. The big difference in the alignments are the assignments and obviously our coaches have failed in teaching the assignments to the players well enough so they can play fast.

Ika and Jacobian Guillory would make a great 1-2 combo at Nose Tackle

I definitely remember that it was after a discussion with Ed regarding his playing time

Did Ed say that? Did Ika? Maybe he had to leave to avoid a suspension.

You can’t compare Chase and Marshall with Gilbert. Chase won the Biletnikoff and both he and Marshall have rings. Both were going to be early entrants in the 2021 Draft and playing this season posed a risk. Their opting out, while selfish, can be justified as business decisions. Don’t judge Gilbert in the conjunction with Chase and Marshall. Judge him in conjunction with Stingley, Ricks, and other 5* recruits or with other freshman that are being underutilized this season.

I’m starting to wonder if we are talking about Pelini or Bahnsen

Going back to 3-4!

We are closer to fielding a 3-4 team than a good 4-3 team

FWIW, I doubt it is happening.

Your remark is an insult to the players on this team that continue to go to practice every day and work through the adversity of an extremely difficult season. Those players understand what it means to be a teammate and put the team above yourself.

We have two more games to play, we look like shite, it is what it is. He's young, hasn't been able to go home all year, and is probably going through a lot of shite right now. I'd rather forgive him and have him back the next two years than to whine about him quitting two meaningless bullshite games on the rest of this bullshite season.
