Skenes is a hoss, but he has trouble going deep in games

Your takes get worse and worse with each one. I mean really, WTF.

Crews

Everyday players just have more team value.

A pitcher like Skeens Trumps an everyday player. Skeens is a win when he takes the mound

Skenes...great pitching always beats great hitting. Crews is great but I go with the pitcher.

So ?

Would be nothing to get to 120 if those games meant anything

Crews. Every major league scout agrees he should go first. And I certainly don't know more than they do about baseball.

I think Sammy thinks Skenes is like 6’ 180. Dude’s a fricking 6’6” hoss in unbelievable shape.

Good pitching will beat good hitting every time. Go Skenes.

Skenes by a slight margin. Give me a dominant pitcher.

How come you haven't bumped that thread anymore? Been all downhill since you tried to bang your chest.

Posters are reacting in this thread to a small slump from Crews, and ignoring 3 years of baseball. Scouts aren't going to do that. They actually have brain cells.

Flipped to Skenes. I think Skenes has top of the rotation, superstar potential. I see Crews as everyday player and will probably make a few all star teams but ultimately will be a notch below elite OFs like Trout, Betts, J-Rod.

Everyday players have more value. Crews is a once in a lifetime player for the Pirates to be able to draft because he does all things well there really isn’t a hole in his game. If both make the pros it will be easier for Crews to stay healthy vs a pitcher throwing 100mph generally speaking. Safer pick is Crews in my opinion although Skenes is best pitching prospect since Steven Strasburg I would imagine. And I think Skenes is better than Strasburg coming into the draft. Tough call I would go with Crews though because of the body of work over 3 seasons

I would gamble on Skenes. Just seems like a big, sturdy, durable dude like Gerrit Cole.

The Pirates had a guy like this before…. He sucked until he left that organization. His name was Gerrit Cole.

Crews is an every day elite 5 tool player. As great as Skenes is, he can always still easily get Tommy John at any given point.

Love Skenes but it's still Crews.

How many times has he pitched in the 8th this year?

For a guy who throws 100+ pitches lost outing how many times has he pitched 8 complete innings?

And this is college.
He’s even talked about this himself.

MLB clubs aren't asking starters to go 8 innings anymore.

If Skenes throws 6, striking out 10 in the MLB then 100% of teams would sign up for that in a heartbeat. You are making yourself seem dumber than I even thought you were in this thread.

Was the only time the pirates have been relevant in the last 30yrs. He definitely didn’t suck

Pittsburgh completely botched the trading of him to Houston, though. Probably why they’ve been set back so much.

And teams would shite their pants for a 450 hitter but generally people don’t stay level in the MLB.
