Agree.
You can argue that 2019 is what we should expect from Orgeron.
Or, you can argue that last year's 5-5 is closer to what we should expect based on his entire resume (spare me the COVID excuses, that's stupid).
It's somewhere in between if Ed gets fully engaged again, but have my doubts that even his top notch recruiting can ensure a return to championship/playoff levels on a year after year basis.
You know what I’ve found interesting about the comments on here is the fact that most aren’t paying attention to what Mulkey has already brought on campus - an outstanding Center, Forward and proven championship level guard in Ursin. Then they didn’t look at what came back in Pointer, Cherry abs Aifuwa.
She will be 2 deep at each spot with the best backcourt in the SEC and maybe all WBB. She knows what wins championships - guard play.
It would not shock me to see this team clicking on all cylinders and making a very deep level run this season. My guess will be an elite 8 to final 4 type run.

Mulkey. O caught lightning in a bottle. Yes he had something to do with that but I don't see it happening for another 8 years at least.
Wade has elevated the program but since we haven't even won a game yet in the final four, I don't think that is possible soon.
Torina is close but she has had her chances so don't see that happening.
Johnson would be my next guess.

Mulkey or Johnson. All respect to Wade and Torina, as well as O. New fire in those seats. Football is out, 1 loss and you're pretty much done. Baseball or basketball can have a few hiccups in the season and build on that in playoffs.

Probably O.
Maybe Wade.
I will guarantee that O wins at least one more before his tenure at LSU is over.
For context: I guaranteed he would win one when he got hired, to waves of downvotes, derision, and laughter from this board.

This is no longer the case.
Also: 2007. If anyone should believe that one loss doesn't count you out, it should be us.
and Bama.

Baylor was a bigger heap with no tradition, IMO. Not that LSU has a great tradition in women's basketball, but they have been competitive.
I expect it to be at least a couple of years until LSU is truly competitive. Probably a couple after that before a title is likely.

CAN YOU BE ANY WORSE OF AN O COCK RIDER? MULKEY IS 10000000000000000 times better than him AND WOODWARD DIDNT HIRE HIM! That’s hilarious to write this.
Ed’s team would kick the shite out of every single LSU team ever.
Go cry about it pussy

Don’t tell him that - he keeps landing top 3 classes

I would say coach O in the next 3 years! If Torina hires a new hitting coach she could win one before then!

Mulkey
There isn't a close second.

Great question, refreshing. I say Coach Mulkey, fingers crossed for Coach O.

That team had next to nothing to do with Orgeron. He was just the kid at school that gets placed with the smart kids for a group project and then shares the “A”.
He had the best DC in the country. The best offensive assistant in the country. They each coached their side of the ball. Orgeron couldn’t coach his way out of a paper bag.
Not to even mention the best NCAA QB all time. An all-time WR core, premier RB, the best OL in football and great players on defense. He gets credit for not fricking that up I guess, but come on. Stevie Wonder could have been the HC of that title team.
Orgeron just isn’t a good coach by any stretch of the imagination. If he was let go by LSU, no contending p5 team would hire him as a HC. Before the title, no p5 would have hired him as a HC period.
He’s MUCH closer to getting fired than winning a title. I wonder what people will say when he loses 3 or 4 games per year for the next couple years. I don’t see O around here by 2025. He’s just not a good coach. We’re out recruiting the best coaches available to coach each team at LSU. O doesn’t fit that bill

What the frick else do you want? Outside of Saban and Dabo name one coach who’s been better since Ed has been hired? Name fricking 1.

? She hasn’t coached a single game here yet and has inherited a bad team. How can you say there isn’t a close second?

HA. You haven’t watched Tiger football more than 10 years or so. Different eras different teams. Different coaches. While the game has changed, I would put the 2006 LSU team against it or the 2003 team or the 2011 team. Why? The defense on those teams and the offense would control the game by shoving the fricking football down that teams fricking throats and shorten the game.
AND HE TURNED AROUND AND WENT 5-5. 7-5 and he is run. Too many negative Title IX and for cause questions.
