Wow why dont you shut up, dude. Dont tell me what to do with my own money, very rude. It’s not your place to say. Don’t come in here all high and mighty talking about church and food banks. It’s immoral for you to do that. You do you with your money. Everyone else can do the same.

You should give your money to NIL instead of Church. You know your money is given to the players you want, giving to church makes you part of the real problem.

Yep, I gave 50,000 dollars to a university already, I'm not giving another dime.

But don't give to those churches that have covered up for pedophiles.....just saying

You people need to get through your head that IT'S NOT GOING BACK. You can't unopen this pandoras box. It's ok to not like it, but stomping your feet and wishing for the past is only going to lead to us falling behind

If morality comes into the equation, you really don’t want to know where all this money will end up…..

Ok scrooge. Amateur sports (mainly collegiate level) died years ago.

Better engineering students = better program= more attractive for incoming students.
Then apply that to the non-revenue sports that you said don’t bring a ROI. Better tennis team = better program = maybe some star willing to donate to LSU later. No different than Skenes and Bregman pimping LSU baseball or our NFLSU guys representing.

frick you, I’ll give my money to who I want.
Winning championships is worth my money so I’ll donate damn where I fricking please
Basically, yes. It doesn't take a world-renown economist to figure out winning championships does indeed boost the local economy.....

Tell me when that existed. LSU does not claim one national championship because of allegations of professionalism. That was in 1908.

Not enough bum fights at the food bank for me to donate

Why would I give money to church? So they can continue supporting pedophiles?

Spoken like a true legalist! Who are you to decide where someone gives their money?

Or, and hear me out here, or people can do whatever they want to with their money.

I steal from the church and food bank and give it to LSU to buy players.

The Carnegie report on college sports was published in 1929. You can find the full pdf file with a google search, it's less than 40 pages and pretty interesting if anyone has time. But one of the first things the report outlines, and keep in mind this was 95 years ago
quote:
In the second place, the football contest that so astonishes the foreign visitor is not a student's game, as it once was. It is a highly organized commercial enterprise. The athletes who take part in it have come up through years of training; they are commanded by professional coaches; little if any personal initiative of ordinary play is left to the player. The great matches are highly profitable enterprises. Sometimes the profits go to finance college sports, sometimes to pay the cost of the sports amphitheater, in some cases the college authorities take a slice of the profits for college buildings.
