Lanning
Freeman
Cignetti
Rhule
Elko
Deboer
Sumrall

I’m not saying this without the benefit of hindsight but all of the above have accepted new jobs either the same year or after. And all are potentially in the playoffs. So yes there were some great guys out there

I wasn’t against Kelly being hired but his team is not talented, not disciplined, not inspired, not innovative, and not competitive. In Every phase. That points to program failures.

What about every single preseason the posters on here that say 10-2.

hope

Yep

I thought we would lose at least 2 out of 3 vs USC, A&M, Bama.
USC because we don't open well at all. A&M because they play up at Kyle Field. Bama because we can't match their talent and depth, and they always play well here.

I thought we might lose to Ole Miss, Arkansas and Florida. Ole Miss is good but it was home. Arkansas and Florida, we should be better but they're road games.

So, we lost all 3 games I was real worried about, and 1 of the 3 I thought could get us.

NOBODY ever answers this question

So you're saying LSU had no choice but to sign a ten-year, $100 million GUARANTEED contract?

bullshite.

And to answer your question, we could have gotten Dan Mullen for a song and got a better value with similar results, and wouldn't be staring at such a huge buyout.

A lot of us did. The day BK was hired. LSU is way too big for him and he is melting.

He refused to coach the bowl game even though he was getting paid. Should have docked his pay.

Nuss refused to play in the bowl game even though he knew we'd be without a QB if he didn't play.

Perhaps it’s because we don’t hire the guy.
We expect the guys that do the hiring to do their jobs.
In this case, I really don’t the logic behind the decision.

The TD CBK sympathizers on here will tell you he’s a great coach and it was a no brainer. Deep down, we all knew this was going to happen.

Not surprised for 8-4.

Why would anyone assume we're going to beat Vandy? They're much better than Florida.

Add to that, we lost the first game to what turned out to be a bad team.

How the expectations got so high is the true question.

Wins over SC and OM were improbable and should get more credit, but this 3 game collapse makes that impossible.

Just too many glaring weaknesses that you can't put on film this long without consequences. Handicapped at too many spots. It would require multiple 1st round talent at key positions to overcome.

We don't have it, nor is it even on the roster. Because if it was, it surely would be getting time over what we're putting out there.

I did. I predicted four losses before the season. But that doesn't make the manner of these losses any less incriminating. Collapsing and losing poise against TAMU. Decimated at home by Bama. Bumbling against a sub-.500 Florida team. All disgusting.

the constant execution errors are what get me...

this team is in no way "Saban-esque" or anywhere near it.

We are paying for a much higher level of execution than what we are getting

d. One of the most asinine hires in LSU history

While BK hasnt worked out like we had hoped, he has well over 200 wins, played for a natty and will eventually be in the college football coaches Hall of Fame.

Smoke Laval, Johnny Jones, and Curley Hallman say hello. Drop the stupid hyperbole and tell us who you were hiring? Or did you want O to have another season?

Yep.

Losing close to a good FSU team in year 1 was acceptable, especially with beating Alabama and making the SECCG.

Losing a blowout to the SAME team in the next opener suggests that FSU got better over the summer while LSU stayed the same or got worse. Losing on the road to Alabama was understandable.

In year 3, losing to a bad team in the opener, and getting blown out at home by Alabama, and losing to another bad team in Florida shows the program is clearly going in the wrong direction.

What is Kelly doing all summer if he's not preparing his team? Is this really what $10 million a year buys you these days?

I don’t know why you got so many downvotes. You are spot on

. . . Maybe it’s the Dan Mullen thing

I remember a lot of LSU posters (especially those on the SEC Rant) saying that they thought we had a ceiling of 10-2 and a floor of 7-5. It was true based on what was known at the time. Looks like we hit the floor
