1) Sage ( rabbit got the gun) Ryan and Major burns have been starters for 3 of the worst LSU defenses. If we didn’t have younger talent better than them, then we can’t expect a better result.

2) we all know DT was a glaring week spot due to attrition and not landing guys out of the portal.

3) no way nuss could be Daniels and no way could our wr’s could be as good as neighbors and Thomas. Therefore, the offense would take a step backward.

I guess the biggest surprise as well as the largest disappointment has been the oline. Really thought they would be better than most defensive lines we faced. Unfortunately, they have been average at best and terrible as of late.

I was hopeful for 9-3. Not surprised for 8-4. If it’s worse than that, then it’s truly disappointing. I believe the coaches have to begin a youth movement. Prepare and develop guys for next year.

A lot of us did. The day BK was hired. LSU is way too big for him and he is melting.

What about every single preseason the posters on here that say 10-2.

I feel like it never fails. Are they simply out of touch with reality?

Pretty I sure I said 8-4. Big step back on O small step forward on D. But I’ve been divested since the checks started arriving so regardless I’m not losing any sleep . If BU gets here he plays immediately I can see D getting better. Take what u get and just be a fan. Drink ??

There are many on this board that said 9-3 or 8-4 (I think there was a poll on the board). We also have a big part of our fan base that are either very naïve or just dumbasses when it comes to expectations. When it was obvious our oline could not run block we never had a chance. So frustrating!

That's not my f'ing job, and judging Woodwards history, it shouldn't be his f'ing job either

All of this is true and add on the fact no one expected the O line to regress this bad and our run game to be almost existent.

The defense holds up fairly well for a half. By the end of the third quarter they are gassed because of lack of depth up front.
The backend is too poor to be able to play man. So we have to help one side of the field with other players.
Offense is totally one dimensional and has been figured out.

The middle (Chester) is wide open for business bc he is good for 5-6 whiffs per game.
Can’t throw it now bc the opponent can add players to help, bc we can’t block a 4 man front with 5 or more players.
Dellinger replacement is poor
Chester is very poor
Nuss simply will not run. (I feel like someone is in his ear saying don’t you dare risk getting hurt. )
It’s just a comedy of errors right now and play calling to scheme out of it is non existent
Then the offense keeps putting our D back on the field, bc we can’t run, and the cycle continues

Well, since we have now won 10 regular season games only once in the last 12 seasons, I'd say that's a resounding "yes".

I didn’t make a prediction, but I think everyone here expected a dominant running game mixed with play action passes that would control time of possession and keep the defense off the field. No running game = where we are today.

I think the frustration stems from the fact that, yes, we identified our weaknesses early on. But great programs have other positions step up to mask those weaknesses. This 2024 team, however, hasn't seen a single position group consistently rise to an elite level—just a few flashes here and there. And honestly, it's those brief moments of excellence that have us sitting at 6-4 instead of 4-6. If that level of play showed up consistently, we'd be 8-2 at worst.

For 2025, we’ve got to hope that a quarterback with a year of experience under his belt and a defense refreshed with new faces in our weakest spots will be enough to finally get us over the hump. At the very least, it needs to keep us from starting the year 0-1.

Napier might have been a better hire. With a losing record, favored to lose, his kids played hard even when they were behind and once they were ahead.

This year with the toughest schedule in college football, they have a chance to be .500 and that's with losing a starting QB and RB.

Compare rosters with star rankings and Kelly has him beat. He's done more with less this year.

After year one the guy looked like a great hire.

He took over a terrible situation and rebuilt the entire roster. He found a great QB, fielded a good D and a good OL with two freshman tackles. He beat Bama and got us to Atlanta.

After that it has been mind boggling. Things have fallen apart. Our roster got worse. It’s crazy.
