DL coach for Lane

Don't think he'll stay at LSU as a DL coach

Yeah.

He'll be on Saban's staff within a couple months of his dismissal. Saban is missing those Louisiana 5 stars.

Nah.

Our only way out of him fricking us on recruiting is if he gets hit for show cause.

I guess it'd be too much to hope for him fricking an LSU employee.

Funny i thought about this yesterday.

He got PAID.

He was a career DL coach that was ok but more on staff as recruiter. He could get a crap job with a Kansas type school like Miles or just tap out.

I suspect he will just tap out b/c his new ego can't handle being a staff guy.

That’s the only way he doesn’t go to Bama. We would have to get him for cause. Likely fricking ourselves in the process like Tennessee did with Pruitt though.

What’s his motivation to be a DL coach again at Bama?

Just for revenge?

With his money why not just retire?

It's apparent Ed genuinely loves the recruiting aspect, and relating to the guys. It wouldn't surprise me, if he continues as a DL/assistant head coach/recruiting coordinator-type for the rest of his career when his stint at LSU is over.

I agree. He has pride and ego to a fault. No way he plays second banana to anyone after LSU.

No one will hire him after he is fired from LSU. 2019 will be known as a fluke and his pattern of failed head coaching jobs will make anyone hesitant to ever hire him for a coaching position.

See Chizik except Orgeron doesn’t have the coordinator experience and obviously can’t become a TV analyst

He gonna still love them when they figure out how to fire him without a buyout?

Probably has to keep “looking” per the buyout agreement. Or he takes a lump sum and retires.

Not that a DL coach job is really gonna offset that buyout, but I think we would be better paying him not to coach than paying him to coach.

We should welcome that. If anything could knock Bama off its perch its a poisonous snake like O. O would be dumb enough to think he'd be in line to replace Saban and start networking key boosters and create the coup like he did to Miles.

I don't think God or Saban who are basically the same person, can rehabilitate Ed. Nick won't put up with Ed smashing cans on his head and Ed won't change.

I don’t know that he will accept offers for jobs. But he will get them. aTm would hire him in a second. His only value is recruiting Louisiana and he could be paid nicely for continuing to do what he loves at a high level. But whether or not he wants that I don’t know.

Probably retire to sell cars and screw single mothers

Lower probability of coaching DL for PC in Seattle or a recruiting job for Alabama

No school of note will hire him. Never mind his binder-holding sidekick.
