This is a rebuild, bro. But the fact that you're posturing this hypo is indicative that the rebuild is going better/quicker than originally expected. Enjoy the ride... 2023 could be a 10-win season, and 2024 and 2025 we should see possible contention.

Hypothetically? Yes, we would be in as a 4-seed

I wouldn’t even dream of that happening though. I would be pleased if we split the next four games

Please please pump the breaks. We will be 8-4 and, if we really play well 9-3. That would be a fantastic spot from where we were last year. You are setting yourself up for disappointment.

Me posting a hypothetical scenario has no ramifications on the team's play for the rest of the season. This is a message board. I'm fine with 8-4, 9-3, or 10-2. I'm posting this for the sake of discussion, homie.

I'd also note that 7-5 isn't out of the question. Ole Miss, Arkansas and A&M can all be beat but they all can also beat us. Its not out of the realm of possibility that we lose to two of them. Hell its not even impossible that we lose to all 3 and go 6-6.

Conversely, it's possible for LSU to finish 11-2 as well.

The OP proposed a hypothetical question not a prediction. If this scenario played out, LSU would likely be in the playoff.

It was a little over a week ago that we got boat raced out of our stadium by TN, pump the damn brakes.

Ah geeze, hope I didn't let the team down by posting a hypothetical scenario. I'll pump the damn brakes, Gorilla Ball, so very sorry

We're not winning out. I hate to say it, but chances are, we're gonna lay another turd at some point. You hate for it to be against somebody you should beat, but that's usually the way it goes. Based on that, you should be able to guess which two games are prime candidates for this hypothetical turd laying.

It all depends on other teams out there with 1 loss. The irony here is that a 1-loss Georgia or a 1-loss Tennessee, especially if that is a close game, might be more likely to get in. Here is the logic you will see, either Georgia barely lost to Tennessee. If it is Tennessee who we beat in the SEC championship they will say does anyone really think a 1 loss Georgia is not better than a 2 loss LSU team that was blown out by Tennessee? If we beat Georgia, the talking point will be how can you pick a 2-loss LSU who lost over the 1 loss Tennessee that blew them out in the regular season.

Very good points. Really sucks that we lost to Florida State now, but seeing us play better as the season goes on gives me a lot of hope for the rest of this season and next year. If JD stays, we could be looking at a playoff run next year.

I agree with this. The selection committee will use whatever logic it takes to justify what it wants to happen.

It's like yall are incapable of discussing hypothetical scenarios I'm fine if none of this happens dude. I'm fine if we only beat UAB, Arky, A&M and our bowl opponent the rest of the way. I love LSU football, but it's not putting steaks on my grill or paying my light bill.

Holy shite, I found someone with a functioning brain capable of having this type of discussion without having a fit.

I won't bet the farm on this happening. As confident as I was that we would beat Florida, that's how unsure I am that Ole Miss can be defeated. They're really good this year.

Their best win just lost to South Carolina by 10 points. They beat Auburn by 14. I don't think they're unbeatable. Stop the run, make Dart throw to beat you
