We could’ve been in the playoff with a competitive game against Georgia. I know you can always play this game, but just interesting to think about. We would’ve needed TCU and USC to lose and would’ve probably gotten in.

Edit: We are obviously beating the puppies anyways, just an interesting scenario.

Nah. Losing to Georgia would remove us from the playoffs whether that gives us 2 losses or 3. We'd have to be undefeated heading into the SECCG to lose and still get in.

Dumb. 11-2 non SEC-Champ LSU is not in the playoff

Big difference in being the SEC Champ and not being the SEC Champ when you're 11-2

The Florida State game is pretty much meaningless at this point.

If we missed the 2-point conversion against Bama, you’d likely be asking what if we had only made that 2 pointer. Well now you know…we win and out we are in. Funny how we agonize over close losses but almost forget about the close wins. Let Bama ask about the what ifs this year.

One of the best parts of a hard out of conference game to start the season is that early losses are faaar more forgivable than later losses, and it better prepares you for the season

I would say individually so is the Tenn game

Even if they would have won that (and still lost to FSU) they would need to beat UGA to get in

No chance. In reality, the Florida ST game is exactly what we needed. Even if we had one loss we still are out with a loss to Georgia.

We needed that fsu lose to wake up and focus
Would not be where we are if we would’ve won
Would have gotten to far ahead of ourselves with the big head

No we would not have. 2 loses is equal. You have to beat Georgia! Bottom line.

I was telling my friend earlier that I think we may have been #5 regardless if we beat FSU or not.

Beating Alabama and going 6-1 in the league can erase a lot of out of conference woes.

How do we know this team responds the way they have without a tough loss out the gate? Have much more to prove when you start the season with a loss. Might be cliche but it builds character to move on and get better.

Would it even have mattered now? If we were 10-1 and that 1 loss was a beat down at home then we’d be #5 behind the 4 undefeated P5 teams. We lost 2 games and we’re still #5.

It feels good man knowing this LSU football program we support is as respected as a Bama now after 2019. think what you want but the committee basically gave us a mulligan for that FSU loss.

We’d have to beat UGA anyway for the title. No one outside the SEC is taking them out for us.
