Will he break Duplantis's hit record?

I think through three years he'll outpace Duplantis. I don't think he will be a four year player obviously, but if something happens and he returns, would he break it?

I say yes he'll outpace Duplantis and hypothetically break the record in his 4th year.

He’s not staying 4 years
In the analytics age his tools will get him drafted very high

Duplantis had the benefit of not only staying 4 years but playing on some teams that went on deep runs in postseason.

It'll take him averaging 90 hits a year x 4 years...

If he starts hitting for more power he will be a first round pick. Analytics values power.

I am hoping he stays three! Four is out of the question right now.

I’m not sure I’ve ever felt more confident in a player getting on base than when Antoine Duplantis was at the plate.

You think he will be here four years? The OP clearly said three.

If Morgan stays all 4 years, I can easily see the next 4 years at least matching those types of postseason runs. According to LSU’s website, not sure if they included last night’s game, Morgan needs 30 more hits this season to match Duplantis as a freshman.

I don’t remember who it was but I seem to remember someone decided to shift Duplantis like he was a pure pull hitter almost the whole weekend and he just kept hitting the ball the other way. I think that was 2019 when he started to display some power.

Dylan Crews has only 2 less hits than Morgan. Both might surpass or get close to Duplantis' record IF they played four year. Neither will of course

His OBP was nothing special.

Morgan has one sweet swing. If he stays 4 years I hope he breaks Antoine's record but Mangum's as well.

FTR, I have nothing but respect for Jake Mangum. Just wanna see a Tiger with the record.

I think there is at least a chance Morgan stays 4 years. There is zero chance Crews stays for 4 seasons.

Whats the point of this? Tre won't be here 4 years under any circumstances.

Who ever thought Tre Morgan how to play baseball knew what they were doing, he’s an outstanding player. Some have said he’s an analytic player but I disagree, he uses the whole field, and doesn’t sell out for power by striking out. The kid can just flat out hit. He’ll get more power naturally as his body matures and if he can keep that hit tool then look out because he won’t be in the minors long, especially the way he can pick it at 1st. As good as Dylan Crews is, I think Morgan is just as good if not better

I'm interested to see if he moves to the outfield at some point.

Because his height may not necessarily project him as a 1B at the next level. One of the few times being left handed hurts a baseball player, because he'd be a SS if he was a righty.

Stop. Morgan is great. Crews is one of the most talented baseball players to come to LSU.
