Downvote for thread title since O hasn't yet put in the same sample size, but the Miles portion of your statement is fairly true.
He deserves credit, along with Emmert, for coming back from a couple bad seasons......but tRant wouldn't be blowing him quite so often if he'd stayed in NFL, or failed at Bama, or another school.
His success at Bama taints their perception of his time at LSU.

So anyone want to weigh in on why LSU was 9-3 in Sabans 5th year at LSU and then had 2 losing seasons at Miami and then went 7-6 with a loss to ULM?

If you were to replace Ogerons name with Miles all of your up and downvotes would be reversed. The O-flakes on the Rant do nothing but use double standard criticisms of him and will never give him credit for anything he’ll ever do. Of course he’s not better than Saban but the Rant will tell you he’s the worst coach in the history of sports. They also like to makeup rumors and stories about him that are totally false. These people are the scum of the sports world.

LSU was a pathetic football program before Saban arrived. That’s the difference. He resurrected us from the dead and completely changed our culture. He won our first national championship in 45 years.

This was so impressive that Alabama hired him a few years later to be their next Bear Bryant.

Stop it.

Saban took over a dumpster fire.

Idiot took over a roster full of top 250 recruits

Saban, at Alabama, is one of the greatest college coaches ever. Saban, at LSU and Michigan and Miami was not the greatest ever. Difference, amazing talent differential.

That's the sad part - that 2006 LSU may be the most talented LSU team ever. 2007 wasn't far behind. Only 2011 is close, imo. Saban was building up to what he ended up doing at Bama.

I do think he learned a lot from leaving LSU, going to the pros, and then coming back to college. For one thing, he almost always now has an upperclassman back-up QB game-manager type ready to take over after another one graduates. Doesn't always use him, and he may end up sucking, but there's no more scrambling to find a serviceable young Marcus Randall, etc.

question should be how many games would Saban had won from the year 2005 and on? After 3/4 of the ground work had been laid and facilities that were still being built which was great to sell recruits. ect ect. Instead we got ONE 2 loss NC while Bama has, hell I lost count

well that settles it - O is better than Saban.

Who knew such a great coach was languishing for years as a D line coach?

yeah he ignores saban rebuilding a losing program AND

saban has won as many titles as les in less than half the time les was here. We have the dumbest fans i have ever seen.

OP proves my points yet again about the football ignorant contingent here. IT IS STRONG!

posters have no perspective, rationality or objectivity.

but now O will be better then saban?
