If Nuss doesn’t get the start, does he gain another year of eligibility?

Is it 5 to play 4? Or 6 to play 4? Or 7? 8?

If Jayden gets the start (and doesn't declare for the draft), Nuss will be playing elsewhere next year.

He has 4 years of eligibility and is 19. Some of y’all act like his entire career is on the line this season

It is what it is. Only one QB can play... Howard will be the next man up.

Yes. As long as you’re not the starter you keep gaining years of eligibility.

Nuss will get his chance at some point. Brian Kelly changed QBs in some point in a season in over half of his seasons at Notre Dame. He did it twice when his team was undefeated. Whoever is the back up is likely going to get meaningful snaps at some point this season. And if he doesn’t, it will mean Jayden has played so well, he’ll be off to the NFL after this season.

In today's age with the transfer portal, it kind of is.

I can 100% promise you that if Jayden starts this year and decides to return for next year, either Nuss or Howard are transferring out. If Nuss stays, Howard is gone. If Nuss goes, Howard will stay.

Just cause daniels returns, he'd have to still beat out nuss or Howard. And each of these guys have 2 and 3 yrs to start if daniels plays 2 here. Would make 0 chance to leave, unless they thought they'd lose to the other person, which would be very max of them.

All the worry on the board about Nuss is silly. If he’s not starting by the end of this season, it’s because Daniels is better and we would be lucky if Daniels doesn’t declare for the draft. If JD is back or Nuss can’t beat out Howard next year, then who cares if he transfers?

That is why he didn’t play in the bowl game last year.

He can still do a medical redshirt if he has an injury.

He starts back over at 4 every year he doesn’t start. New NCAA rule is what my cousin told me.

He’s a doctor so he wouldn’t lie.

All the downvotes you got for this.
People actually think Nuss will be the backup for the 3rd straight year next year.
