If LSU would have beaten Ole Miss, who would we have played in our bowl game?

Ohio state or penn state? Im guessing Ohio state since we would be ranked ahead of mizzou. It would have been nice to play in a meaningful bowl game

Unless you're in the playoff, none of the bowls have any meaning.

Lol Somebody doesn't understand the difference in payout for a NY6 bowl game compared to other bowls.

The payout is still split. It would’ve just been better coverage for LSU.

Yes. All bowl money is split evenly (after team expenses). So 2-10 Vandy gets the same as every other team in the conference.

No, you are correct. All the bowl payouts go into a pot and get split evenly among conference members.

That OM game still stings. Up 9 with less than 9 minutes to play. 10-2 feels a lot better than 9-3.

Playing for 11 wins against a top 10 team means something. The idea that it’s not a playoff game so who cares is a bad look. Teams with all the opt outs show that program is not strong.

Nabors, Thomas, and Wingo playing shows we are in good hands. Getting 10 wins matters to them.

Last year Will Anderson and Bryce Young playing in the Sugar Bowl bc finishing the season with their teammates was important. In the grand scheme of championships I get the it means nothing crowd, but as far as your program going into the offseason with edge and positivity it means everything.

Yeah prob Ohio State since we beat Mizzou head to head.

Penn State would have been fun too.

Playing a 7-5 Wisconsin team doesn’t really stir any emotion

How’s it different from the Georgia State game?

THIS, we would have been higher ranked than Mizzou.

Let's take care of business vs WISC and hopefully see some star-Tigers for 2024 make their presence known.

The bowl payout is split into equal shares, but the team actually playing in the game receives two shares. Every other school, and the SEC office, gets one share.

I believe this is correct. I am constantly amazed at how many people with incorrect information feel compelled to present it as fact.
