So we are now Moral Victory U!!! Yay team!!!

This kind of attitude makes me ill. But, a previous poster was correct. If we lose, there will be a pack of “true fans” here after the game extolling the virtues of our “progressing” offense, even though it was proclaimed over the summer as some sort of scoreboard killing machine.

Coach O's record in moral victory games is only 4-7. Thumbs down.

It would still be a loss so no it would suck. I don’t believe in moral victories but if LSU loses a 24-23 type of game and the offense showed some improvement and moved the ball against a really good defense it could allow for some encouragement going forward the rest of the season. If they lose a game 10-9 or 14-7 and the offense struggles then no would not be good at all.

No such thing at LSU. As soon as we start labeling wins as moral victories, then we need to start all over. If this is the case then the standards of LSU football need to be revised.

Fashion to the way Texas A&M lost to Clemson, is that a moral victory? Is there even such a thing anymore?

Is there such a thing? Did you not see this board after the Alabama game last year?

They are not winning this game. Regardless of this game, they still will have a chance to go 8-4 if they can lucky out and win one of the toss up games

We need to start over then. After we outfained Bama last year people here were acting like we won the Super Bowl.

And this thread is already laying the groundwork for moral victory if we keep it close with AU Saturday.

Pretty sad.

No, this is Orgeron’s 3rd year, no moral victories now. Before someone chimes in with this being his 2nd year, bullshite. You “Zero” pumpers are quick to give him credit for the wins when he he took over in 16 after Miles was fired. Well if that is the case this is his 3rd season. He want credit for the wins he has to own it all.

frick that. We need to hang it up if we think we can’t win at Auburn. We should be able to win against anyone, anywhere, any day.

Anything less is not a competitive team.

I guess Alabama and Georgia weren't competitive last year because they both lost at Auburn and neither one was that close.

Going into the season I thought the absolute best that LSU could hope for in the first 3 games was 2-1. So if LSU is competitive in this game as has a chance to win the 4th quarter I'll be happy especially given what we've seen from our offensive line and play calling so far this year.

If a team goes 0-10 but they have 8 moral victories are they really 8-2

There has only been one season where that was the case and it was in 1958....I think your expectations are wildly unreasonable...especially given what we know about and have seen from this team.

Agreed. As much as I hate to say it, it shows the true decline of the football program the past few years. Its even affected the fan base.

I don't give a shite about moral victories.....but there is no way in hell that a man can truly think that LSU wins in Jordan Hare this weekend. I just hope we don't get blown out of town.

I'm not crazy about Orgeron, wouldn't have hired him, and think him hiring Ensminger was a death blow. But this is his 2nd year. That you don't want him to be coach doesn't justify an obviously dumb argument. Plus, giving him credit for the interim year helps Orgeron.

LSU has never won an SEC championship in a season involving a loss to Auburn.

You should temper your expectation based on what you know which is this:

1) We are missing a huge starter on o-line and he probably won't be back this year.
2) We seen the offensive line has struggled mightily.
3) Burrow seems to still be adjusting to the speed of the game when it comes to decision making.
4) Our wide recievers are suspect at best.
5) Our defense is dominant.
6) We aren't 100% sure yet if Brossette's perfomance so far is fool's gold.

So given all that whihc are facts that we know.....I'd temper my expectations for this weekend if I were all of ya'll.

ETA I'm against Zero as much as the next man....but if you think close losses to Auburn, UGA, and Bama are going to get him canned then you are sadly mistaken. I can't bring myself to cheer for LSU being blown out just so Zero will get fired.
