Fashion to the way Texas A&M lost to Clemson, is that a moral victory? Is there even such a thing anymore?

My sense is this team can have a solid season with that kind of effort and outcome.

This game was the one I circled as the worst chance for an LSU win before the season started due to historically bad outings in JHS, and that the LSU offense would still be trying to find its identity. Both seem to be still the issue.

I know I’ll get pummeled for this, but I’d be happy with a tough played, well executed game plan loss by 6 or less points.

A lot of it depends on the offense imo

So the new Derek crew is shifting from telling us everything will be ok because "________" to selling us on the moral victory?

We’re a top 15 team not coming off of a 7-5 season.

Moral victories don’t exist at LSU. They didn’t with the last coach and they don’t with this one.

With that said- if they lose a hard fought battle, everything is still in front of them. A history has proven you can afford to lose one game, not two.

frick that. We need to hang it up if we think we can’t win at Auburn. We should be able to win against anyone, anywhere, any day.

Anything less is not a competitive team.

Can you at least wait till the game is over before you claim moral victor

How bad has the program fallen when we are making these bullshite excuses 3 days before the game is even played.

No moral victories. I wouldn't be happy. But I would be more optimistic that we can beat UGA,State, and Bama.

Moral Victories don’t exist, at the end of the day, Coach O doesn’t keep his job with “moral victories“ against SEC foes Auburn , Alabama, and Texas AM

The last time we played at Auburn we thought we won on a buzzer beater before it was reviewed.

How did the moral victory work out for that coach?

There are scenarios where a loss won’t feel as bad, but friggin’ win! A W is a W.

Guess it depends on how you define solid season

If we drop that game and run the table going 11-1 then yeah

But if we're only "competitive" in losses to the major opponents on the schedule then F that

IF (big if because I think the Tigers win) LSU loses, there will be some guy on here Saturday night trying to talk about the positives from the game.

Don’t be that guy.

This is what I was going to say. If they go to Auburn and are competitive and lose, it won't be a "yay, we kept it close" deal. But if the record at the end of the season is 10-2 or something, then obviously it'll be ok. You can't win them all, but you better be competitive and you need to win a lot of them.

Moral victories????

You don’t win championships with moral victories! Play to win or fail!

This will NOT end well!

See how far we have sunk!

Anymore? Was there ever such a thing? Big time programs don’t claim moral victories.

What is wrong with you? We have won 3 games at Auburn since 1998. We can win this game. Lots of things have to go right.

This isn't a team that is going to contend for a NC. The chalk for this team was somewhere between 7 and 8 wins.

A close loss to Auburn will be an outcome that RIGHTFULLY gives logical fans hope that the team could possibly continue to improve going forward and outpace the expectations.
