Maybe LSU should just hire Johnny Jones to coach the women. We all know he was done wrong his first go-round. Give him another chance.

Woodward expects his coaches to compete for championships and loves to make big splash hires. That being said, he also prefers to focus on the "money makers" which women's basketball is not. I see him replacing Fargas but not with Mulkey.

This x100 over. I argued about this in another thread, but it's just dumb financially to throw a ton of money at a women's bball coach. The sport would just go further into the red overall.

I'm not advocating for LSU to keep Fargus, but paying an exorbitant salary to get Mulkey would be completely asinine. It simply makes no financial sense to invest so heavily in WBB. Even if Mulkey were wildly successful at LSU, all you would be doing is creating a greater financial deficit that the revenue generating sports (Football, MBB, Baseball) would have to make up

It is unfortunate because I really believe Nikki knows basketball and can teach it and floor coach it. BUT, as in all college sports, recruiting is where success starts. And Nikki recruits poorly if her goal is to be a top contending program in the SEC.

I argued for Nikki when she was making Sweet Sixteen's, but we are a FAR cry from that. The product is not there, the recruiting has always been underwhelming, and the National Championship Most Outstanding Player transferred from here last season. She needs a Sweet Sixteen season and that is the only way she saves her job, imo.

This is a quality thread. How do you think recruits will react if all the major head coaches at LSU are white? LSU needs diversity in its head coaching positions.
