She's a great coach who is not a good recruiter. The recruiting issue can be fixed. Why waste excellent coaching skills - she's already here and simply needs an assistant who can focus on recruiting.

I don't think anybody wants Fargas gone because she is black. They want her gone because she has run a once proud women's basketball program into the dirt.
Your love for every single black coach, despite how poorly they are doing their job, combined with the hate for good coaches is amazing.

Race has nothing to do with my views, no more than everyone wanting to run off black coaches means that there is a bias favoring white coaches.
Other posters have agreed that Nikke Fargas is a good coach. She doesn't recruit well, and that can be fixed if you have a good coach.

Why has she not simply hired good recruiting assistants?
If this was year one or two, ok maybe the AD says you have to go get some recruiters. She’s been here a good while at this point.

Excellent coaching concealed and/or overrode recruiting issues. It is that simple. JA was not help, I assume the new AD will get her some help.

Why is it that when anyone does tow the company line, that person is "trolling?" Do you really think that diversity among the LSU head coaches is not a good thing?
Even the responses here so far indicate that no one has a real beef with Coach Fargas' coaching. And, her recruiting deficiencies can be cured.

WTF does a new AD have to do with anything? If she can't/won't recruit and/or can't keep the girls she does get, do you really think a new AD will fix that?

What could a possible new AD provide her to do better? She is not getting more money. LSU already invests a lot in LSU's WBB program a lot more than the pokey days. She hired Demoss as an assistant to help recruit better. She ended up running her off in literally a couple years. At some point it doesn't matter who the assistants are, its on the HC.

Not sure LSU has caught up to Tennessee as much as they have dropped like a pinball under Holly. They were lucky to even be in the NCAAT this year. Tennessee is not even a fraction of the program it was under Summitt. They fired her because their program is not good anymore.
Tennessee is not a gold standard anymore.

I have, on occasion, posted about Coach Fargas. I have also supported hiring Mulkey as coach. But, if LSU cannot get Mulkey, LSU needs to stick with Coach Fargas (for now) and see where the program heads under the new AD.
