I'm not gonna argue about who's right or wrong, the fact is he wasn't one of miles' types of backs and therefore he wasn't offered and should have been in his junior year, etienne is that good. Just because you go to junior day doesn't mean you're being heavily recruited by that school, do you realize how many go to those events and how many they actually pursue? It's a chance to see in state/out-of-state talent.

There is no one in their right mind that expected Les Miles to win championships with the roster he had. I know I didn't. At the same time expectations were so high because Les had came into a program already built to win championships. Why couldn't he maintain that and take advantage of that in recruiting top notch QBs/LBs/DL/OL?

He was expected to do that after so many successful years. He didn't maintain it even on a tri yearly basis. He would go completely flat some years, in recruiting our most important pieces, coupled with guys leaving too early in many cases.

When we started the 2017 year I had high expectations. I thought Canada, given his recent history, would be a much more versital play caller. I didn't see the injuries and suspensions coming either. I thought the OL was a decent first team but lacked depth behind it. Once the season started I saw how bad the LB core, DL and OL were depleted depth wise. I also saw lots of freshman playing which meant that they had more talent than the veteran players behind them.

That's when I knew that it would be another year or two before we could really say that we have a championship caliber team from the QB to the Kicker. O didn't start with what Les Miles did, especially along the LOS and at QB. Expectations didn't drop at LSU. The realization that we need to build our depth up came to light. O hasn't been here for over a decade. He's been here for a freakn year. Once he builds his depth up the way he wants it, expectations to keep it there will rise while O is the HC here.

If he can't do that or if he can't beat Bama, he will be dismissed and he knows it. Expectations haven't been lost, they have been reset. We should see a better overall team this year with the depth we now have. The win/loss record should go up as well. Anymore than 3 loses this year will be a disappointment. If he doesn't beat GA or Bama it will be a disappointment. 10-3 while beating Bama or GA and winning the bowl game would be a good year. Anything more would be a great year. We have depth but I'm not sure if they're all developed yet.

In 2019 he would have to beat Bama and turn out an 11-2 season or better IMO for him to remain safe. If he doesn't beat Bama by year 4 or get us into the playoffs we should end his contract and look for a new HC. He was brought here to beat bama and get us to a playoff, raise the level of expectation when it's reasonable. So I disagree with your opinion that our expectations have changed. We'll see what happens in his second year. This looks like it will be a tough team from top to bottom but we'll see.

Have to agree with THEHARAHANIAN, mediocrity started in 2008 when all the Saban,Jimbo recruits were gone with the exception of 1 season.

You O fricktards are either stupid or just have no problem blatantly lying. I guess you’re ok doing both.

Cam Akers is the reason he wasn’t a priority by neither Miles nor Orgeron. He isn’t a big bodied banger either.

I would be thrilled to see the Tigers don the leather helmets, lace ‘em up and pound the rock under Les’ leadership. A Miles team never loses although it may come in second.

could say that about 2006, 2011 and 2012

You could say that about 2005 too. That team was absolutely stacked.

Btw les still sucked so much no one hired him

If Les wanted a P5 job he'd have one.

He's getting paid to spend time with his children. Why would he want to coach again when he makes just as good of money not coaching?

Well o ain't no Barney the dinosaur. I kinda view him as more a Captain Kangaroo or a Mr Green Jeans or perhaps Clarabell the Clown type character.

Good Lord you're a fricking terrible poster.

LSU was 9-3 in Miles last full year.

You are aware that you can look this kind of shite up before posting a bunch of inaccurate bullshite, right?

Goodness Red, wouldn't you want to aim a little higher than that? or much higher? I know I would.

But to each their own.
