I know I'm gonna be in the minority but I would be less enthusiastic about this team with him just knowing the offense would look exactly the same

We could have Tim Frickin Tebow as HC and I'd still be counting the days to kickoff.

I would take Tebow over O 100%. Would be 10x the ambassador for LSU than Ed friggin Orgeron.

Not even close

Yes/no.

I say this as a fan who appreciated what Miles did and where he had the program: it WAS time for him to go, at least for the mood of the fanbase.

There were 2 things happening, that resulted in pure misery for the LSU community.
First is that expectations were sky-high. Miles BETTER have a national champ (the wailing about 1/9 proves it isn't just a contender, you better WIN). The first close game becomes signs of failure; the first loss ends all hope and joy for the season.
Second is the existence of Alabama. Objectively, they are going to beat us again, I think. I'm willing to say they will most likely win the national championship, again. I WANT to beat them, as I'm sure the rest of college football does. But I don't think they will lose; and they won't lose 2 games. And we've now established that they still get into the playoffs, even if someone catches them once during the season.

So in that setting, we'd be miserable. Ironically, I think we have a better record and a better team... but it wouldn't be enough.

O gives us lower expectations. Half the fanbase worries that the program might collapse; so in that setting, another 9 win season becomes an achievement. In other words, an early loss at Auburn wouldn't make this an unbearable year, whereas under Miles it would be "not again, he has to go". Now, it's ok if we lose.

His last year we went in as odds on favorite to win the SEC and ranked #4 in the country. We thought we could win it all. That’s way more excitement then hoping to win 10 games.

Wgaf?

By week 4 all of those hopes were dashed. But hey, at least we were overrated!

That Wisconsin game may have been the most frustrated I’ve ever felt as a Tiger fan.

Yes expectations would be higher with Miles.

He has actually won championships and never lost to Troy

Agreed. All off season we heard about the offense evolving, Harris ready to step up, veteran wide receivers.

What do they do? Throw it 12 times the entire game and pound a hobbled Fournette over and over into 8-9 man fronts. Miles lost what little support he had left after that one.

Yep, we had unrealistic expectations, and the administration had 2 choices:
push hard to meet them,
or
find a way to lower them.

They chose to lower them, and hired O. I guess on one level it's smart- it's easier to accomplish, and probably cheaper. We all whine and bitch, but by early July, we're still building to a fever getting ready for football.

I just hate that we don't strive to win it all anymore.

Only way I'm not excited about LSU football is IF one of " the rant coaches " that always know better than any of our coaches , is the head coach

They did just guarantee a DC $10 million, increase the support staff exponentially, and start a complete renovation of a still relevant football ops building. It’s hard to say LSU is going on the cheap right now.

I’ve always been excited for LSU football but it’s a little different this year. The impending dumsassery feeling I had with Miles the last 10 years is gone so I got a little extra this year

Having a borderline retard that left LSU depleted on both lines and the linebacker position wouldn't excite me very much .. Les was garbage in November and getting his arse kicked against the likes of Arkansas and Ole Miss .. Also a lot of people bring up Les did not lose to Troy but it took one of the biggest 4th quarter rallies for LSU to beat Troy .. There is a reason Les is still unemployed .. Les actually said the way to beat Bama was to attack their strengh. ??. Les is a retard

Les needed to go but Orgeron is such a huge downgrade its ridiculous.

The evidence seems to indicate similar results thus far. Orgeron hasn't moved the needle much except that we didn't get pushed around by Arkansas like we did with Les. I would say it's a push at this point but I'm more optimistic with O than with Les. Les was done.
Ensminger's offense is the linchpin to our success and moving forward under O.

Yeah, you’re not going to gain sympathy or get any more runway for O by continuing to compare him to Les. This year he has to show something.
