Boutte didn't earn his reputation by dropping passes.

Yet he dropped or missed multiple in this game, it happens even to the best.

If he catches the dart zipped to him in the EZ, we also win.

He also dropped an easy catch on a spot route that literally bounced off his hands.

He didn’t have a good game. After rewatching the game, I believe BK’s comments that Boutte was frustrated with himself. I think he got inside of his own head.

All the talk of him being pissed because of not being involved in the passing game is BS, in my opinion. He was involved early and often. His body language may have been poor but I’m inclined to believe Kelly when he says not to read too far into it, after rewatching.

FWIW I was critical of him after the game.

How about if the Center didn’t snap it 15 years over Daniels’ head? Far more damaging than a 50/50 ball

Yea the snap was worse. We were actually getting a little push up front on our scripted plays and Goodwin had a nice run. We’d have probably punched it in

we got our asses handed to us in every phase of the game. no, that one very low percentage pass would not have led to a win. They totally whipped us in both trenches. But it's ok. it's just a game and we will bounce back. no need to seek hope in your lives based on football plays.

For a kid that is suppose to be the best in the league, he didn’t exhibit that on the field in that or the other endzone opportunity

That is not on Daniels. Boutte had 2 chances to catch a TD. One of which hit him in his damn chest. Watch the football game closer.

You are the "best WR in the country"...you make that catch.

Best receiver in the country going over a 5 star 3rd yr CB… I had to look somewhere other than TD to realize that.

I believe we win that game easily. We were driving and then he drops a catchable ball and we settle for a field goal

If FSU don't fumble on 2 yard line with almost a minute left it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

Chase, Jefferson make that catch in that situation. Tell me I’m wrong.

If it was perfectly thrown, Boutte would have caught it over his left shoulder in stride, the way he had to make the.play on the ball, it was slightly under thrown.
He had to slow down , turned his body to go up to high point the ball over the defender’s head. That being said, it wasn’t a horrible throw, it was good enough and a ball Boutte normally catches. I don’t think you fault anyone on that play.

t was a tough, contested catch. However, if we don’t have a terrible snap the next play…

Concur. It would have been a great catch by a supposedly great WR. The bad snap further killed the drive. Missing a TD on that possession set the whole tone at least for the 1st half. His whiff on the slant route on the goal line which just bounced across his numbers was more profound. 11 points (we did get a FG) were left out there just between those 3 plays....

This team has the potential to be better.

Nope.. that will get better with adjustments and coaching..... on one play we had the back and 4 lineman blocking 2 rushers to the left... with Wire trying to handle 5 all by himself.. Hopefully the next time the back recognizes and goes to help Wire like he should have. With coaching that will get fixed.

Stop blaming the wr, that ball was almost 5 yards short and thrown very late

Bottom line is Jefferson, Chase and Marshall catch that ball. That's the standard he has set for himself so he needs to know those guys catch that particular ball over the defender. JMO

Give the defender some credit for stripping the catch. Ball was underthrown and gave the defender opportunity to break it up. Boutte actually had it in his hands before the defender knocked it out

The ball was still in Bouttes hands whenever he hit the ground. The ball popped out as he hit the ground. The defender didn’t make it easy but the ball was in his hands the entire time.
