and i'm not clamoring for SE's head. I think he is doing a good job with what he's got to work with.

but if we do, we need to get the right fit for our school. and, get him more tools to work with, which is happening.

Yeah, LSU is basically trotting out FCS level talent at this point

Me either, but not for the same reasons as you.

Then you aren't too smart.

O isn't looking to make a change and will sink with E, the only hope is E steps down because he didn't want it anyway or Aleva steps in and forces it because he knows his job is dependent on O succeeding

WTF is this? He has the talent, he doesn't have a scheme.

I've posted this several times and I'll do it again, this is the same offense that LSU has ran for years (outside of Canada). Only difference is running it out of Shotgun. When SE took over for Cam all he did was open it up a little, ran it out of more shotgun and teams had to pull the reins back on attacking and it was a great move. But now teams have a ton of tape and know its the same old song and dance. same passing tree(deep on side lines or short side lines..nothing quick over middle), same rushing attack, same statistical rankings...bottom of NCAA and SEC.

No Ensminger is not. Every single offensive statistic and ranking indicate this is by far the worst LSU offense we've seen in over 12 years. There is just simply no reason LSU with its athletes should be ranked 100+ in total offense.

Jimmy and Joes are no doubt important, but Xs and Os are killing us.

We badly need a new S&C coach.

That appears to the be rumor. E was put in a bad situation by O. O needs to fix this.

Thought I was the only one. I think it's time to move on from Moffit. Outside of a few genetic freaks over the years, I just don't see the size, strength and explosiveness on DL and OL. Constantly see people post about recruiting on the DL and OL better...how about the SC coach doing better?

Well, the administration appears to be adamantly against hiring high quality coordinators with a whiff of scandal around them. That means no Kiffin, no Briles (Art or Kendal, I'm for Art, full disclosure), probably no Phil Longo, just as an example.

Now, would Eddie Gran be an option? At a certain point, you have to pick a guy and stick with him. Counting Ensminger twice, this team has had 4 OCs in 3 years. Otherwise, it's averaging a different OC every year. Assuming we go with a new face for 2019, that means our 4-year offensive player would have had 4 different ones.

:letthatsinkin:

Does that sound like stability? A foundation upon which to build? Or dumpster-fire chaos?

Until the administration is either willing to REALLY open up the checkbook and/or hold its nose (NEITHER of which are likely), you're just talking about extra, self-inflicted chaos.

How many games has Bama lost in 3 years, by the way?

I think they've shown they're willing to do this

That's gonna be a problem.

Apparently the plan was to bring in Freeze but the SEC and NCAA were against it. If that's the case, this statement is false.

NO. Either (i) "I would be surprised if we weren't looking for an OC", or (ii)"I wouldn't be surprised if we were looking for an OC".

But, I think folks were able to divine your idea.

Absolutely. People have been defending our lines getting beat by mid majors for years.

Hell, SLU gave our offensive line trouble.

It's time to move on.

I'm all for getting a new S&C coach. We also need a new OC.

We need a head coach that doesn't repeatedly botch OC hiring/firing.

I don’t think you can count Ensminger twice.

The issue with a new OC is usually that it’s a new offensive system.

Ensminger ran cam’s system in 2016, so it’s not like we’ve ran 4 offenses in 3 years.

I think Quality always trumps continuity. The defense has 3 DCs in 3 years and was better in 2016.
