Yea we are jumping all over Gaines it pinson other then a 2 to 3 minute stretch had a bad game also. 6 turnovers and fouling out with some bad fouls. Murray hurt put us in a bad spot bc now those 2 had to play more then usual. Justice helped but he was out of position defense some. Which is to be expected as I’m not sure he had a ton of practice Ming back from injury.

Murray was a huge loss tonight. Would it have changed the outcome. Maybe not. But I think he helps keep us from going down 17.

Also I don’t think Eason was 100% tonight. He had some good moments. But overall I thought he looked less explosive and less aggressive

I see a lot of people on here trying to blame certain players but we were just terrible as a team tonight. Everyone is overreacting (not surprised at all though considering how this boards history). Our offense hasn't been stellar this year but we shot 28% (18/63) from the field tonight! You can't expect to win games, especially against good teams, like that. We won't play this bad every night and hopefully we'll learn from it and take better shots. It never helps to start the game down by 17 either. We are in love with shooting 3s but we just don't have consistent shooters. We need to realize our offense should revolve around physicality, ball movement, and scoring defense. If we keep trying to get back into games by shooting 3s everytime we fall behind, we're gonna lose several more games. I'm sure tPear is ripping them a new one right now and we'll have a lot to focus on in practice this week.

Gaines typically is the catalyst from the guard position.

Catalyst for what lol

Smothering shitty guards that would never be able to play in the SEC

The whole idea that defense wins games was completely shattered tonight against a team with legit guards & athletes

Didn’t say he sucked. But if you’re going to be a defensive player then make plays on defense. He didn’t tonight

Not really. Everybody's losing their minds over Gaines' 5 turnovers while Pinson had 6. He had a stretch of getting to the line in the 2nd half which was good but we need him to make some 3s too.

Yeah, but Pinson was the only player on our team who consistently took it to Auburn and challenged them. He wasn't content jacking up awful 3s. He helped make it a game. He had some dumb turnovers, but it probably would have been a 25-30 point loss without his offensive aggresiveness tonight. He had 13 points in 24 minutes and had as many rebounds as Reid and Days combined.

Good thing huh

6 points. 11% shooting percentage. 0 steals. 5 turnovers. Huge difference maker

Brings his lunch pail to work kind of guy. If you’re going to be a defensive player, at least create steals and turnovers if you’re nonexistent on the offensive side.

He’s averaging 2 steals per game in 26 minutes of action a night, (not to mention all the deflections, a stat that this program records) I would say it’s amazing that you’re drawing such a sweeping conclusion based off one game (one that he was thrown into a larger role than he has played all season, btw), but sadly that’s the Rants way.

This cop out portion of our fan base we have had since miles… “I hope I’m wrong but…”

It’s their way to feel good in either scenarios. “I’m glad to be wrong” vs “I wish I were wrong”.

Congrats, OP. You’re the sports Nostradamus.

Gaines wouldn’t get minutes on any of the top 4-5 teams in the conference

His line tonight might end up being the ugliest by any LSU player all year

My man, you’re wasting your time here. These keyboard Warriors who bought into a 12-0 record against bad teams will simply direct their anger at you.

They have to blame someone other than themselves or Wade for the letdown. LOL

Murray wouldn’t have mattered. We were just throwing up shots just to throw them up

Lol no they weren't. There were several wide open shots. Great shots to take that were missed. Murray definitely hits a few of them. If a few go in, it probably flips the game. LSU was with about 5 minutes left in the second half. Imagine if Murray had played and scored his 9 or 10. Some of you are just acting retarded.

It's embarrassing how many of you waited 12 games hoping for a loss just to post this stupid shite. I mean look at the dumbass post right above mine.

No. What people waited fir was to simply see how they would play against real competition, in a hostile environment.

Any coach who allows his team to go 0 for 14 without making drastic changes isn’t doing his job.

That 0 for 14 is what lost the game. You can’t dig yourself that type of hole and recover on the road against solid competition.

I've said it before about Wade's philosophy on offense, it will be great against about 85-90 % of the teams out there. If you go back and look at every game since WW has been at LSU, his teams depend on being able to win one on one matchups, that's why they struggle shooting in all their losses against really athletic teams or fundamentally sound good on ball defensive teams or a combination of both. He needs some offensive sets with lots of screens for catch and shoot opportunities for Days, he's a pretty decent spot up, non pressured 3 point shooter. My last sentence isn't something WW actively seeks out to implement into every game though.

What do you mean he didn’t adjust? He put Eason in earlier than usual and It looked like he was running different sets a few times each during the cold start

half court offense doesn’t exist for this team

no true jump shooters/3 pt specialist on the team

recipe for disaster

it takes little effort to jack those 3s up and hey are content with dying by 3

I think an offense that runs through Pinson is fulls gold. We have to get Days involved and run our sets through that gameplan then enjoy the other fun stuff when our defense allows it. Especially against teams that can slow us down by making shots and running their own offense.

Man you speak nothing but truths but you seem too even keel for this board. The sky is failing crew won’t like it and the WW pumpers won’t like it either because you aren’t on one side or the other. I get that a lot on this board mostly from the “I follow the general” idiots.

But I digress.

Everyone played bad in the game but some players were exposed such as Gaines. I think Gaines is beyond hope and needs to go to lower level program. Reid is at a tilting point if he can change.

Besides what you said, Eason had issues too. At points he looked great and at points he struggled. Fudge played 12 minutes but he disappeared while on the court. It was the first road game and it went bad. It was a team loss. Some players I am concerned with and others I think will bounce back but it is something to watch for moving forward.
