Everybody at BYU wanted him fired last year. After he left, we had terrible O-line play (mostly due to injuries) in 2018, but our current coach turned those guys into the best unit in college football. I'm glad he's doing well, but he's far from a world beater. And as pointed out, our offense isn't the issue.

Spread it out and hand it to Jontre sweeping across the line when it is hiked. It is a timing play and let the playmaker decide when to cut.

If this threat exists for a hand-off or a run, the defense has to respect it. Hell he could keep and toss it also. I mean there is all sorts of options with him.

If they try that on the 1 against Mizzou and Kirklin gets thrown for a loss or fumbles all of our fans are crying about we should've just pounded it in with a back against Mizzou's depleted line.

The simple fact is we'll never be as good as 2019 and our fans will never forgive Ensminger or Linehan for not recreating that.

. So with the all of 40 yards rushing FOR THE GAME and a stacked middle, he decides the same play twice? How the hell does that make a lick of sense? Stupid.

Nobody said they had to be, but they have ZERO sweeps, ZERO misdirection plays, ZERO screens, ZERO advancement in creativity from last season. Yet everyone else is going through the same shite and their freshmen are getting it done.

Being the reactionary fan that you are, you may not understand this but those plays had several different purposes than simply offering a low risk scoring attempt.

First off, they allowed time to run off the clock which vastly lowered the chances of Mizzou winning on a last second touchdown had we scored.

Second, they were setting Mizzou up for the third down play by giving them the look with Marshall lined up in the backfield, a play that would've been an easy touchdown had Myles executed a little better.

Not blaming Myles here though, he played plenty well enough to win. Having a bad defense gives the offense no margin for error.

Go back and watch every game from 2019 again, we had very few sweeps, misdirection plays, or any of that.

I would argue that screens will most likely be very ineffective if our offensive line cant even get a push on the guy lined up across from them.

Wow. Ok. Running the clock was not that important at that point. They were “setting them up without Arik on the field too. SMH

They have to have misdirection with this team.

1. You must've not watched the defense that day

2. Arik was injured and basically a non factor after that first year so I don't really understand your point?

That's not going to happen in today's game. Not at the level of the SEC. Offenses are just going to put up points more than they have. Look at Alabama. They are stacked on defense but they can't stop anybody

When you can’t score from the one on four tries there is a problem with your play calling !

I’m not saying the playcalling couldn’t have been better, O line blocking has something to do with it, as well.

O will hire Grimes if he is a yes man. That is what O wants from assitants... somebody that won't question him.

not in today’s game.

Top scoring defenses from last season in points per game.
1. Georgia 12.6 per
3. Clemson 13.5 per
4. Ohio State 14.3 per
7. Florida 15.5 per

It’s possible with scheme and talent. Just because people are finally figuring out how to score on Bama, doesn’t mean LSU can’t get their defenses to play at this level.

I wouldn’t necessarily be opposed to Grimes, but he’s benefiting from the second best QB in college football playing in the American Conference. Our current problems are on third down and in the red zone. Strip Linehan of his play calling duties and let Ensminger call the whole offense.

Our future OC is already on staff. His name is Russ Callaway

Callaway is up next!
He’s got talent, worked with Kirby Smart 2 years and around Pruit, Saban, developed NFL Devliin Hodges, etc. He is young and already proven himself! Came to LSU when other SEC teams offered him positions. Why? I think better chance to prove himself.
