It wasn’t until I looked back on both the Florida and Arkansas games of last year and this year that I realized how much I under appreciated E. The play calling to make a Freshman QB comfortable in their first real playing time is night and day between him and Peetz. I’m not saying the Nuss didn’t make mistakes, but I just cannot get over the wildcat play call once he finally got in a rhythm. I cannot wrap my head around the play call, it makes zero sense. I would have loved to see how Nuss could’ve played if he would have really gotten in a groove. Not to beat a dead horse, I just cannot get over the wildcat call or a designed fade to our 8th leading receiver.

Per the rant last year, “thanks, but it was time to go“

Steve was an excellent play caller we would’ve definitely beat Bama, Auburn, and R-Kansas if he was calling plays

He has been a great asset to our program for a long time.

Keeping him any longer just would have prolonged the O era

Almost everyone did. Shoulda just dumped Linehan and hired another passing game coordinator and not been infatuated with having a second person to call third down plays. Maybe it was Slinger's choice, but I hated to see him going away from being an on the field and in the booth presence.

I think we all did, but look at the bright side, this might turn our program in the right direction for years to come!

"might" or it could stay average, at best, for years to come just like TN, FSU, MIA, TX, etc

“For Ensminger so loved LSU, that he did not offer assistance in playing calling 2021 season. Exposing the truth and revealing the path back to glory.”

Yea I thought ensminger was pretty bad but until you see complete incompetence like peetz you realize he wasn’t terrible

E was an average OC. He pitched a perfect shutout 2X vs Bama. It was time for him to go. Just wasn't time for Peetz to come.

I wonder how tough it was for the offense to rewatch the last play and realize that Jenkins and Bech were wide open running SLANTS in the endzone. A 10 year old could have called that from playing madden and scored.

He was a very good OC. Nowhere near average.

Ensminger has surpassed O as the ultimate “but he’s one of us!!!”

Got demoted twice in 3 years. His offenses were sub standard. Look no further than the jump they made in 19’ from 18’.

People went from calling Burrow “Danny Etling” to calling him Heisman

He is by no ways an “offensive guru” and it’s sad to say this, but a coach with general competence is appreciated with the state of the program today. You have Peetz experimenting with plays during the game like it’s practice, and O making a mockery of the program in press conferences. E went about his business and was able to put a game plan together that even in 2018 had us in every game but the Bama game. No he was not great, but he was average and competent, a standard I miss dearly at this moment.

I was wrong to call him an Old Fart.

Jake Pootz is such a shitty coach.

He was but with an average experienced OC who knew what he was doing, we could have three more wins.

No coach was luckier than Joe Brady riding Joe Burrow and the supporting cast (with Steve E) and getting credit for it. Look at his protege as the current OC.
