I honestly don't recall the timeline.
We can argue whether this was all on Wade but there is no argument it is at least partially on Wade. And this is coming from a guy who would love to have him back yesterday.

Rehiring Wade is so easily sold and marketable. He's the best available option, he's learned from his mistakes and he's ready to commit more than ever before because the AD and Wade KNOW what LSU can be. People make mistakes and people have differences, they resolve and reconcile all the time. People love a comeback story. It's made for Hollywood. The big risk is that success is never guaranteed and the SEC is a couple leagues better than the last time Wade won it. I understand that weight in the decision because any scenario where he comes back requires quick success. Whatever happens I hope we can get a program we all enjoy tuning in and supporting between football and the start of the SEC baseball schedule.

Coaches have done a lot of things only to have a university look the other way. This is especially true for winning coaches. Wade and LSU kind of burned their bridges towards each other.

Anybody can be a 'strong' AD if he has unlimited money to spin. He literally bought by overpaying every coach we have with the exception of possibly JJ.

Woody clearly wants his stamp on everything and he clearly didn't care for Wade despite his success. Wade could give us a "discount" and I doubt Woody would consider it. That ship is gone.
