As a white man, the term "Honky" doesn't have the same effect as the N word when used to reference an African American. We come from different backgrounds and could careless what people say even if they called me a honky. However, why couldn't the nickname have no implications or questions surrounding the guy. Why can't we just all have fun bro. Call me what you want , dont care, frick you.

This is just made up.
“Honky-tonk” has been around since the late 1800’s, pre-auto.
It was used to describe establishments\saloons in the west where loud boisterous music was played. Many Pianos, horns and guitars were made by three separate Tonk companies, William Tonk & Bro., based in New York, Tonk Brothers Company and the Tonk Manufacturing Co. in Chicago. This is almost assuredly where the Tonk part came from. The Honky part came from the horns. Louis Armstrong played a Tonk trumpet. Being all white establishments, Honky-tonk was shortened to Honky to describe white people.
