I believe the SEC office had allot to do with it. Just like with the Hugh Freeze firing, when even Saban couldn't hire him as an assistant, I'm sure Ole Miss was "encouraged" to stay clear of WW.

He did it the exact same way other coaches do. The payment was not to a player, it was to someone “believed” to be connected to a player. FYI. That’s not good enough information to actually issue sanctions.

God can you people please just move THE F ON!?!?! This is tiring. It’s a horse that’s been dead. Hell the horse doesn’t even have a skeleton left and y’all are still beating it. Move. On.

So..

Steer clear of Will Wade, but Chris Beard is fine?

It was the assistants that lost their jobs or did jail time

I’ve seen stupid people make comments on twitter like “Will Wade should be in jail”.

What exactly do these idiots think Will Wade did? They hear “FBI investigation” and think Will Wade did something serious. He has been accused of offering money benefits to college athletes. The FBI doesn’t give a rat’s arse about that. Will Wade got caught up talking with a guy who was under FBI investigation for something else.

Alabama has actual team members accused of murder. Yet people in the twittersphere act like Wade has low morals. Forde would do better focusing his disgust on the Alabama basketball program.

Ole piss has a history of hiring sloppy seconds with questionable histories. See Kiffen.

The hire didn't make a ton of sense, really for anyone involved, until I realized who is McNeese's AD, Heath Schroyer. He and Wade are tight. At one point early in his LSU tenure Wade was looking to hire Schroyer as an assistant, and I think Wade had an assist in getting Shroyer hired as McNeese's head coach.

I don't think the hire means Wade is in the clear with the IARP investigation. I think it's more of a matter of a friend (Schroyer) being willing to take a risk nothing comes of the investigation that other ADs weren't quite willing to take. I suspect there is some language in the contract that allows McNeese to easily get out of the contract if Wade is hit with sanctions. If you are McNeese it is probably worth a roll of the dice. Either Wade is sanctioned and you have to let him go with little no penalty, or he's not and McNeese gets a proven coach they otherwise could have never gotten.

Makes sense.

And if WW is successful at McNeese then gets a show cause under a worse case scenario, he will be a hot commodity when it's all over and he is in the clear.

Yep. This only validates what many of us have been saying.

Wade may well be cleared but apparently not too many AD’s are confident in that so the only really offer he had was this favor from his friend.

Now if he is in fact cleared and has no show cause, I don’t think he will be at Mcneese very long so all those new cowboy fans on this board may want to hold off on getting their Walmart mcneese gear

y’all just can’t accept that the guy isn’t that good. No one in their right mind would hire Wade over Beard. The Wade to Ole Miss rumors were started by people on this board. Bunch of tin foil hat wearing nut jobs trying to convince yourselves that Wade is actually the best, most desirable coach in the country and the mean old NCAA is preventing people from hiring him mafia-style when the reality is that no one wanted him

When will this “show of cause” be released? The fact it took this long says a lot.

You can think it’s BS all you want but it’s undeniable. Now whether you agree with it or not, is a different matter. I think it’s worth it

Lol it’s not like power conference AD’s were lined up to hire him.

He’s at McNeese.

It’s not only Scott that sees an issue here.

Matches the fan base that doesn’t stand or make noise until the final minute of the game. MM is perfect for a now dead basketball program like LSU. Very sleepy like the blue hairs on here, happy we fired the coach the made our program relevant again.

You immature dumbasses that keep referring to Woodward as Fat Scott or Fat Woodard show y'all asses every time y'all use those childish references. So let me guess, other than what happened with Will Wade, Scott Woodard would pretty much be known for knocking everything else he has done since being at LSU out the park.

Some of y'all need to really grow the frick up!
