Right, and we spent that MORE to make sure it's not a flash in the pan and to get back to being the consistent winner everyone wants the program to be. They didn't make that financial commitment for one season let alone for one game in September
That's why it's not the end of the world if LSU loses tomorrow on the road to a good team in a hostile environment.

Literally all of our monies spent in the investment mentioned could be gone before next season.
Weis could leave.
Baker could leave.
Any paid player could leave for Portal or NFL.
Literally nothing is guaranteed for some rebuilding timeline that takes years.

That could be said about literally every team trying to compete in modern college football bruv.
That's why Lane chose here over there, because in your disaster scenario the brand and backing make those blows easier to handle and to replace with equal level of talent. Until Lane shows he can't identify assistants that help him or the program it's silly to freak out about coaches potentially leaving for greener pastures.
That's why this is more important for Ole Miss. They are BEGGING to win and be taken seriously and for it to not have been a flash in the pan only good because of Lane. The first loss or show that it's cracking is going to have them losing all of that faith and false bravado that they are pumping themselves up with.

GTFO! LSU was 7-6 last year. This is Lane's first year and only his 3rd game. LSU is favored by 3.5 on the road. There is no pressure for LSU. OM was a game away from finals last year and has the best QB, RB and WR in the country. This is OM best chance to beat Lane and LSU. They all know it. The whole world knows it.

This is about the long haul. LSU will have a better program than Ole Miss in the years ahead. Ole Miss better get 'em this year because it's going to look a lot like Saban vs Miles the next few years (I already can't wait for the blood bath next year in BR). This is Ole Miss's last stand and they better make it count.

Posted this in a thread in the SEC Rant, but it warrants reposting here
I don’t really agree. Not saying Lane/LSU is not under pressure, but of Ole Miss wins, it really means nothing long term for Lane and LSU.
But if LSU wins. And good grief if they win big, it will be devastating for Golding and Ole Miss.
Whether Ole Miss admits ir or not, this is the last year for a while they have a realistic shot at being competitive for a playoff spot. And this game is critical for them.
Lose and the program’s psyche goes down the toilet and they end up with 4-5 losses.

Idk what happens tomorrow night but I do know what program is in better shape long term.

I agree. Ironic that that is the case.

And that's really what this thread is about. Chad got laughed out of that thread, now he is trying to save a little face by saying how stupid it was if we lose.

Why is your name 504 boy when you've never left Covington?

that's wishful dreaming. Crushed would mean that they would be falling from a place that you are admitting that they are at. But they aren't actually at that elevation. Its nearly a win for them to make this an extremely competitive game.
They aren’t anywhere but a stepping stone school for coaches and players. With a stadium smaller than some highschool stadiums. Ole Miss isn’t anything and won’t be anything and hasn’t been anything since the 50’s.
